Lowe called the Regular Meeting to order in Commission Chambers at 9:30 A.M. Deputy Town Clerk Jane Dillon called the roll. Present were Chairman Robert L. Lowe, Members Alfred E. Bresnahan, Paul R. Kane, William Maltz, Michael W. Hill and Felix R. Goldenson. Vice Chair Leonard D. Bell was absent. Also present were Building Official Ed Hardy, Town Attorney Thomas E. Sliney and members of the general public. APPROVAL OF MINUTES By unanimous vote, the minutes of the April 10, 1996 Regular Meeting were unanimously approved. NEW BUSINESS REVIEW PLANS FOR FIVE DOLPHIN PILINGS AT BOLA COVE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, 4510 S. OCEAN BLVD., LOT 15 N. APPLICANT: RON CORAL - DOCKMASTER (1032 RUSSELL DRIVE.) Mr. Sliney offered an outline on the procedure of how the Public Hearing should be conducted, citing code section 5.2D1, Ch. 30, which provides the method of reviewing and approving dolphins or free standing moorings. The recording secretary attested that certified letters were mailed to the applicable property owners within 1000 feet of subject prop- erty, and swore in all who would be testifying on behalf of this Petition. Mr. Hardy asked that the Town record reflect that Mr. Ron Coral has submitted an application for five dolphin pilings, everything is in order as far as the town ordinances, and Mr. Coral has submitted all the required governmental agency letters and appropriate correspondence from Boca Cove Homeowners Association. Mr. Coral presented an in-depth presentation on his request for the five pilings to be placed in three different locations on the subject canal. There was very lengthy discussion and questions from the board on clarification of subject application. After concerns were addressed, the public was invited to testify for or against the project. An issue of insurance/liability was brought up, .with Mr. Coral providing a statement from the subject homeowners accepting responsibility for installation, repair and maintenance of pilings (copy attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.) • Planning Board MaY 8,-1996 Paae 2 of 2 With all questions answered satisfactorily, MOTION was made by MR. KANE/MR. HILL as follows. THE PLANNING BOARD GIVES APPROVAL FOR INSTALLATION OF FIVE DOLPHIN PILINGS AT BOLA COVE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION IN CANAL IN QUESTION, IN THE MANNER WHICH WAS SUBMITTED BY DOCKMASTER RON GORAL. Roll call met with unanimous vote. The next Planning Board meeting is scheduled for June 12. With no further business to come before the board, MOTION to adjourn was made by MR. GOLDENSON/MR.
