November 15, 1960
The regular monthly meeting was called to order By Vice-Mayor Turner
at 7:30 p.m. on November 1, 1960. No one else was present except T
Town Manager Hertwig and so for lack of a quorum, Mr Turner declared
the meeting recessed to 7:30 n.m. on November 15, 1960.
The recessed meeting was called to order at by Mayor Eypel at 7:30 p.m.
on November 15, 1960 . Also present were Comm'rs Bertash, Jones and
Turner. Comm. Noble was absent was absent at the start of the meeting
but arrived after the earlier minutes had been approved. Town Manager
Hertwig was present.
irutes of the meetings of October 4 and 18, 1960 were read and annrov-
ed on motion of Comm. Bertash, seconded by Comm. Turner and the affirm-
ative votes of Commis Bertash, Eynel, Jones and Turner.
A letter was read from Mrs. S . C . Roth dated November 2, 1960, in which
she requested the rezoning of Bel Lido lot 22 in Block 2, and in which
she objected to the assessed value placed on said lot. The Town ILanager
read reports dated November 14, 1960 on these two matters and after a
full discussion it was the consensus of the commissioners that the pro-
per way na to dispose of the problems involved was as recommended by
the Town Manager in his retorts. Comm. Turner moved that the request
for rezoning be denied and that the Town Manager be authorized to ar-
range a settlement of the problem with the Roths in line with his re-
f, port dated November 14, 1960. The motion was seconded by Comm. Bertash
and atnroved by the affirmative votes of Comm'rs Bertash, Eynel, Jones,
Noble and Turner. There was no dissent.
A letter was read from ':r. M. S . Hamilton, dated November 4, 1960 rela-
tive to the earlier proposed addition to Bellefonte. The Town ?'tanager
submitted and read a report dated November 10, 1960, concerning the let-
ter from Ir. Hamilton. The letter and report were discussed by the mem-
bers of the Commission but no formal action was taken as there is noth-
ing currently before the Commission for action in this matter.
The Town Manager reported verbally on some further information about
the the beach shelter which the Commission had ordered removed at the
meeting on 8ntober 18, 1960. There was evidence that the boys involved
with the shelter were not to blame for the noise and nuisance complain-
ed of. The Commissioners were still convinced that there was a serious
resnonsibility if they permitted the shelter to remain. The Town Mana-
ger suggested that he be permitted to contact the parents of some of
the boys and see if they would snonsor the activities of the grout and
agree to be responsible for the conduct of affairs at the shelter.
Comm. Noble moved that this course be followed. The motion was seconded
by Comm. Bertash and approved by the affirmative votes of Comm'rs
Fertash, Eypel, Jones, Noble and Turner. There was no dissent.
The meeting was adjourned on motion of Comm. Bertash, seconded by Comm.
Jones and the affirmative votes of Comm'rs Bertash, Eynel, Jones, Noble
and Turner. There was no dissent. -
