REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 14, 1981
Acting Chairman, Mr . Walker, called the meeting to order at 9: 30 A.M.
Following salute to the flag, Mr. Walker called the roll. The Agenda
is Attachment "A" .
Present: Harry Walker, Leon Allen, Theodore Boepple
and Martha Joy
Also in attendance were Elaine W. Roberts, Town Manager, and Mr.
W. Vernon Kirby, prospective Board Member.
Mayor Horton Entered the meeting at 9:45 A.M.
The Recording Secretary read the minutes of the meeting held on
October 15 , 1980. The minutes were accepted as read.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Kirby gave a resume of his background and experience.
MOTION by Mr. Allen and seconded by Mr. Boepple to recommend that
the Town Commission appoint Mr. Kirby to this Board. All Board
Members unanimously approved.
Election of Officers:
Mrs. Joy made a motion that Mr. Allen be appointed as Chairman of
this Board. Mr. Boepple seconded the motion.
Mr. Walker made a motion that Mrs. Joy be appointed as Vice-Chairman
and Secretary. Mr. Boepple seconded the motion.
All Board Members voted Aye for approval of the above nominations.
Mrs. Roberts stated that vacancies still exist on this Board. There
should be five regular members and two alternates.
Mrs. Roberts talked about the Housing Code, stating that this Board
is set up under the Standard Housing Code. Each member will be given
the newest booklet (1979 edition) which will be adopted by the Town
Commission, probably at their regular meeting in February.

Mayor Horton addressed the Board, thanking them for their interest
and service to the Town. He then gave an update of what is going
on in Town and the water situation, stating that the new water plant
will be onstream on January 19th. Plans will be made for an "Open
House" sometime in the future after the grounds have been beautified
and the outside painting is finished. The contract calls for an
April completion.
Mr. Walker announced that the next meeting of the Housing Board of
Adjustment and Appeals will be held on April 15, 1981 at 9: 30 A.M.

Mr. Allen moved to adjourn; Mr. Boepple seconded the motion.
