1981.10.28_BAA_Minutes_Regular MINUTES: HOUSING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND APPEALS REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 28, 1981 Chairman Allen called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M. Fol- lowing salute to the flag, Chairman Allen called the roll . The Agenda is Attachment "A" . Present: Chairman Leon Allen; Vice Chairman and Secretary Martha Joy Dempsey, Theodore Boepple and Vernon Kirby. Elaine Roberts, Town Manager was absent. Secretary Martha Dempsey read the minutes of the meeting held on July 15, 1981. The minutes were accepted as read. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Chairman Allen stated that he had received a memorandum from the Town Manager regarding the Status of Building Development in Town. The Recording Secretary will make copies for the Board. Con- gratulations were extended to Mrs . Dempsey on her marriage in June . Mr. Kirby stated that he had received a letter or announcement that this committee was to be reduced to three regular members. n At the present time there are four. Chairman Allen stated that the Ordinance dated August 4 was to provide for three regular members (instead of five) and two alternate members. The terms of the regular members are for three years and the terms for the alternates are for one year. (Alternate ' s terms had previously been for two years. ) Mr. Kirby inquired as to when the Ordinance became effective, and felt that there was a lack of communication someplace. Chairman Allen will follow up on this and then inform the Board. Ordinance was mailed to all committee members with no explanation. Ordinance No. 421, Attachment "B" . NEW BUSINESS None. Chairman Allen brought to the members ' attention that there is a CAB meeting Thursday evening at 7 : 30, October 29. NEXT MEETING DATE Chairman Allen announced that the next meeting date of the Housing Board of Adjustment and Appeals will be Wednesday, January 13 , 1982 at 9:30 A.M. Barker ORDINANCE NO. 44ePr AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER. 134 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, SECTION 13;-2, ENTITLED "HOUSING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS ESTABLISHED; TERMS OF MEMBERS; JURISDICTION" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA, that: Chapter 134. entitled "Housing" , Section 13;-2, entitled as above be amended to read: to provide for three (3) regular members (instead of five (5) regular members) and two (2) alternate members for a term of one (1) year(instead of two (2) years) .
