1975.03.12_BAA_Minutes_Regular MINUTES: THE HOUSING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND APPEALS, MEETING
HELD ON MARCH 12, 1975
Chairman Santangelo called the meeting to order at 10:20 A.M. with
everyone joining him in the salute to the flag.
Chairman Santangelo called the roll.
Present were: Chairman Santangelo, Vice Chairman Genovese,
Carl Krauss, Gertrude Vendeland, and John
Kanner, alternate, serving for Mr. Stephen-
son.
Absent: Ben Stephenson and Lyman Jenkins.
Mrs. Roberts, the Town Manager was in attendance.
Mrs. Vendeland read the minutes which were approved as read; a motion
was made by Chairman Santangelo and seconded by Mr. Krauss, unani-
mously carried.
Chairman Santangelo asked if there were any communications. Mrs.
Vendeland read the letter which was written to the Palm Beach
Property Assessor re the Steinhardt property by Mr. O'Grady, the
Zoning Administrative Official, who had made an inspection of the
White House Property after the demolition was completed. He re-
ported that he found the project to be complete, all debris re-
moved and the site in good condition. It was moved by Mr. Geno-
vese that the letter be placed on file, seconded by Mr. Krauss.
Chairman Santangelo inquired of Mrs . Roberts if there were any mat-
ters to be brought before the Board, and suggested that perhaps she
could enlighten the Board about the new litigation.
Discussion followed.
The chairman inquired who was representing the Town in the legal suits
and Mrs. Roberts informed him that Tom Becker is representing the
Town, and that Tom Sliney is the Town counsel who handles all the
normal work for the Town. The Town' s legal firm is Tylander, de
Claire, Becker and Van Kleeck in Boca Raton.
A suggestion was made that in view of the fact that we are not doing
any business, perhaps the meetings could be scheduled for every two
months, rather than monthly. After discussion in which Mrs . Roberts
pointed out that the Ordinance would have to be amended inasmuch as
it calls for monthly meetings, it was unanimously decided to continue
the monthly meetings .
