1978.01.11_BAA_Minutes_Regular MINUTES : HOUSING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS - REGULAR MEETING - JANUARY 11, 1978. r"1 Following salute to the flag, Chairman Santangelo called the meeting to order at 10: 15 a.m. , advising this was a Regular Meeting of the Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals. The secretary called the roll : Present : Judge Santangelo, Mr. Kanner, Mrs. Vendeland, Mr. Butler, Mr. Stephenson, Mr. Jenkins. Absent : Mrs . Blosser Chairman Santangelo addressed the Board advising the next meeting of the Housing Board is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, 1978, at 10: 15 a.m. Secretary Vendeland read the minutes of the meeting of November 9, 1977 . Following discussion, Mr. Butler offered the motion to approve the minutes as amended. Mr. Kanner seconded the motion. All aye votes. The minutes were approved as amended. Chairman Santangelo noted the active use of the Highland Beach Library by residents, the broad choice of reading material in the Library, the efficient functioning of Library procedures and he commended Library personnel. Town Manager E. W. Roberts, in audience, advised that a larger amount of money is budgeted for the Library each year. The Town will endeavor to purchase books recommended by residents. In reply to Chairman Santangelo' s inquiry relative to red ribbons on vegetation along S. R. AlA, Mrs. Roberts advised these were placed by the Florida Department of Transportation to identify vegetation re- quiring relocation or pruning. The Department of Transportation will contact property owners relative to this matter at a later date. Additional discussion followed covering S . R. AlA traffic markings, double lines and recommendation of a lower speed limit. Mrs. Roberts advised that a Zoning Plan Draft is in the process of examination by the Planning Commission. Copy of the Draft and Pro- posed Map is available at the main office. A general discussion followed relative to dune line heights and protection thereof; flood insurance; the proposed bridge at Linton Blvd. in Delray; speed limits on State Road AlA thru Delray, Boca Raton and Highland Beach, and the suggested disassociation of Highland Beach from Palm Beach County. Mrs. Roberts noted the following: Parker property - building permit reinstatement has been requested. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Stephenson offered the motion to adjourn, Mr. Kanner seconded.
