JUNE 14, 1978.
Acting Chairman Kanner, in the absence of Chairman Santangelo, called the
meeting to order at 10 :20 a.m. Following the salute to the flag, Secre-
tary Vendeland called the roll. The Agenda is Attachment "A" .
Present: J. J. Kanner, G. Vendeland, L. H. Jenkins. B.
Stephenson, M. L. Blosser (Alternate) .
Absent: Judge R. V. Santangelo, J. F. Donohue.
MINUTES
Secretary Vendeland read the minutes of the meeting of May 10, 1978.
Following the reading, motion was made by Mr. Stephenson, seconded by Mr.
Jenkins, to accept the minutes as read. Mr. Kanner, Mrs . Vendeland, Mr.
Jenkins, Mr. Stephenson and Mrs. Blosser voted aye.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Mr. Francis Hamzik, Town of Highland Beach Building Official, commented on
the structure located on the east side of AlA, south of the Seagate of
Highland condominium. Mr. Hamzik indicated the structure does not conform
to code. The Housing Board of Adjustments will be advised by the Building
Official at a future date, relative to the demolition of the subject struc-
ture.
NEW BUSINESS
Mrs. Vendeland noted receipt of letter from Town Clerk K.M.Borgemenke with
P-1I copy of Ordinance No. 335. Ordinance No. 335 was read by Secretary
Vendeland (Attachments "C" and "D" ) .
Mr. Hamzik commented on anticipated receipt of applications for new con-
, struction in Highland Beach. He noted that since 1976, approximately
235 units had been built; in 1977, approximately 23 units. In 1978, as
of this date, there are 38 permits out with an anticipated additional 30
coming in. Anticipated new building by the end of December 1978, is esti-
mated to be 69 units . A 30% increase in building is expected with the
ending of the building moratorium. Mr. Hamzik noted the possibility of
additional construction on Town Lots #123 and #124, E & W (#123-Holiday
House, 2575 South Ocean Blvd. # 124, Ocean Terrace, 2565 South Ocean Blvd. )
Financial Disclosure Forms were distributed to members of the Board.
ADJOURNMENT
Acting Chairman Kanner, advised that the next regular meeting of the
Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals, was scheduled for Wednesday,
July 12, 1978, at 10: 15 a.m. Motion was made by Mr. Stephenson, seconded
by Mr. Jenkins, to adjourn. All aye votes . The meeting was adjourned
at 10:40 a.m. �.

Commission at a Regular Meeting held on June 6, 1978.

Board of Adjustment and Appeal, effective immediately, will now
meet each month as opposed to bi-monthly meetings.

ORDINANCE NO. 335
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 134 ENTITLED
"HOUSING" BY REPEALING SECTION 13-1. 1, 106.2
AND DELETING FROM THE ORDINANCE THE WORD
"SOUTHERN" .
WHEREAS, the Town Commission of the Town of Highland
Beach deems it necessary and advisable to amend Chapter 134
entitled "Housing",
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Ordained by the Town Commission
of the Town of Highland Beach, Florida, that:
Section 134-1. Southern Standard Housing Code adopted.
Delete the word "Southern" ,
Section 134-1. First sentence delete the word "Southern"
and delete "1973" and substitute with "1976, with 1978
amendments" ,
Section 134-1.1. Amendments to Southern Standard Housing
Code. Delete the word "Southern" ,
Section 106.2. Delete this in its entirety.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Commission of the Town of
Highland Beach this 6th day of June , 1978.

Sec. 131/4-1. Southern Standard Housing Code adopted.
The Southern Standard Housing Code, being particularly
the I973 edition thereof, includint any. and all supplements
thereto, 'save ani gat sticfi porflons as may hereinafter be
amended, of which not less than three (3) copies have been
and are now filed in the office of the building department of
the Town of Highland Beach, and the same is hereby adopted
and incorporated as fully as if set forth at length herein,
and from the date on which this chapter shall take effect,
the provisions therein shall be controlling in the use, mainte-
nance and occupancy of all dwellings, dwelling units and/or
structures within the area of jurisdiction of the Town of
