1975.05.16_BTRB_Minutes_Regular MINUTES: BOARD OF TRUSTEES (Retirement Plan) - May 16, 1975 Mayor Gilday, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, called the Special Meeting to order at 12 ;45 P.M. on May 16 , 1975. Present were : Mayor Gilday, Chairman; Commissioner Mumford, Secretary; Commissioner Bauer; Mrs. Higgins, Treasurer and Patrolman Cecere. In addition, The Finance Director, Mr. Anton Drasal was present . Mayor Gilday stated that the purpose of the meeting was to consider the acceptance of a resignation received from Mrs. Thalia Higgins, as a member of the Board of Trustees, and also as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees (Retirement Plan) . A motion was made by Commissioner Mumford and seconded by Commissioner Bauer to accept the resignation of Mrs . Higgins, as a member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, effective as of May 30, 1975. (Attachments "B" and "C") In polling the members of the Board, the following voted, Aye : Mayor Gilday, Commissioner Mumford, Commissioner Bauer, Mrs . Higgins and Patrolman Cecere. The next item of business was the appointment of a new Treasurer to replace Mrs. Higgins. A motion was made by Commissioner Bauer and seconded by Mrs . Higgins to appoint Mr. Anton Drasal as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees . This motion was then amended to first appoint Mr. Drasal as a member of the Board of Trustees, and then the Board of Trustees appointed him as the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees. The following members of the Board voted, Aye : Mayor Gilday, Commissioner Bauer, Commissioner Mumford, Mrs. Higgins and Patrolman Cecere . This to become effective on May 30, 1975. The next matter brought up for discussion was the consideration of a request from Patrolman Giordano to withdraw his voluntary contribution** from the Retirement Plan, plus interest. A motion to approve Officer Giordano' s request was made by Patrolman Cecere and seconded by Commissioner Mumford to return said monies and that the Treasurer be authorized to compute the amount and prepare the necessary check. Discussion was then held regarding withdrawals of the voluntary funds from the Retirement Plan. Mr. Drasal stated that the purpose of this Fund was created for retirement purposes and that the withdrawal and possibly coming back into the Fund sometime later would not be in (-. accordance with this plan, but would be acting in the capacity of a bank. ** - Attachment "D" MINUTES: BOARD OF TRUSTEES (Retirement Plan) - May 16, 1975 - Page 2 The matter of bonding the Treasurer was then discussed and it was decided to hold this matter in mind for future meetings. Minutes of the previous meeting (April 24, 1975) , which had previously been read by members of the Board, were then approved, with Mrs. Higgins moving that they be approved and Commissioner Bauer seconding the motion.
