1973.08.30_CAB_Minutes_Regular TOWN OF HIGHLAN?D BEACH Minutes of the meeting of the Community Appearance Board on Thursday, August 30, 1973. 111 The meeting was called to order at 7100 P.M. with the following members present: Mrs . :;tewart, Messrs . Walsh, Beekman, Rex, and Johnson. Minutes of the last meeting on Thursday, July 25, 1973, were read and approved . Item #1: Monterey Mouse - sign approval . A slight change to a shorter zign with additional wording was requested. The Board was generally fairly complimentary regarding the sign, and motion was made by Yr. .;ex, seconded by Mr. Walsh and approved by Mrs . Stewart, Messrs . Beekman, Rex, and Johnson, to allow the change . Item 42_ Winterhalter Club - real estatesign. It was thought that since one sign was already placed by the realtor another would not be required, but the owner (not the realtor, Dean Pochna, Inc . )could request a larger one . A motion wasmade by Mr. ilex, seconded by Mr. Walsh, that the sign be rejected as is, and suggests that Miss Pochna meet with the Board, in order to come to some mutually acceptable solution. Motion was approved by Mrs . Stewart, Messrs . Walsh, Beekman, Rex and Johnson. Item #3: Ed L. Nezelek. Inc . ighland Basch Ambassadors Cloud 2 sign approvals, temporary . According to previous minutes only one large 50' sign was allowed for Ambassadors and two smaller 32' signs, and agreed to by Mr. Urbanek, and it was suggested that such signs be relettered to include Nezelek's . Mr. Walsh would like this sign no wider than the existing Eastern site signs. Initially Mr. Urbanek personally requested an allowance be made that he be permitted to erectone 50' and he consequently would agree to limit future signs to 32' maximum. The present request increased the square foot of smaller signs to 40' which seems outside the spirit of the original agreement. It is felt that a re-design of existing Ambassad-rs 32' sign could carry the new information requested by Mr. Nezelek . If it is felt that this is an unreasonable request on our part, their application would be automatically approved upon receipt of a sinned statement of re .uez:t from Mr. August Urbanek.
