Minutes of the meeting of the Community Aaaearance Board on
Thursday, October 25, 1973.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 2 .g. with the
following members present; Mrs . Stewart, Messrs . Walsn,
Beekman, Hex, and Johnson.
Item #l:Ocean Harbor Club. A preliminary preview of the
RBUD plan presented by Mr. R. C. West and Associates was
made, and after some discussion a motion was made by Mr. Walsh,
seconded by 14r. Rex, that the gener‘l site plan as proposed
be approved, with the goner,-.1 understanding that further
study be ma::e to re-locating the L-unit townhouses, the
landscaping and planting of second deck parking areas, the
density of landscaping along AIA, and the re-locating to the
North of the Main driveway entrance.
Item #2: Town Hall La.:dscape elan. Mr.: . dobLrts was shown
a laniscaaing plan outlined by Magnus Nur::ery, Inc . , an award
winning landscaper of some note, and she indicated her approval
of it. Tnerewas also a discussion of the type of sign for
"Town oi' Highland Beach" to be placed in front of the new
Town Hall buil:ling, and that perhaps Dave Martin, architect
rcr Boca Hi, would draw up an appropriate plan for such a sign.
Item #3: Alternate to the Community Apaearance Board . The
name of ?,rs . Herman D. Becker, 2I750South Ocean bou1e`vard
was presented as an Alternate for one of the two vacancies
on the Beard, and motion was made he Mr. Walsh. , seconded
by Mr. Rexi and approved by Mrs . Steward and Mesprs . Beekm-n and
Johnson, unat she be appointee to rill this vacancy .
Item #4 : Urbanek propertied : Ars. Stewart spoke to .:r. Urbanek
regarding signs desired by Mr. Nezelek, and he negated the
requestsaying only Site Number was necessary.
Since there was no further Lusiness motion was made to adjourn
at 10:15 2.i4. , by Mr. Rex, seconded by ars Stewart, and
approved by all.
