Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Community Appearance Board,
on Thursday, November 21, 1974, at the Highland Beach Town Hall.
The meeting was called to order with the following members present:
Messrs. Beekman, Johnson, Storm and Rex, and Mmes. Becker, Jaffe
and Stewart.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted without change.
Mrs. Stewart introduced Mrs. Sylvia Jaffe as the new alternate
member.
Item #1. Mrs. Stewart read a November 20 , 1974 memo from
Mr. John O'Grady relative to Boca Cove withdrawing their applica-
tion for three signs.
Item #2. Color charts for the Town' s water tower were studied.
The color No. 22 Aqua Mist from the Nacoro Company was chosen by
the CAB as the most appropriate . It was suggested that we deal
with a local paint dealer who understands the local climatic
problems.
Item #3. Mrs . Stewart suggested that due to a lull in the build-
ing trade we have an opportunity to examine some of our operating
policies. Threepoints were agreed upon:
1. The CAB approval for a site should always include the
landscaping plans as well as the building plans.
2. Members of the CAB should not feel obliged to abstain from
voting when the issue is one that a member feels very Qclose

3. Alternates shuld feel
free to attend all meetings regard-
less of whether all of the regular members attend or not.
Item #4 . Mrs . Stewart read Town of Highland Beach Resolution 263
dealing with County-wide coastal preservation and beach preserva-
tion.
New Business
Mrs. Becker made a motion that Mr. Rex write to Mayor Gilday
for the CAB asking that he put a notice in his next Newsletter
requesting that beach property owners remove all plastic, glass
and metal objects from the beach from now on to improve the ap-
pearance of the community. Seconded by Mr. Johnson. Approved
by Messrs. Beekman, Johnson and Rex, and Mmes. Becker and Stewart.

Mr. Johnson questioned whether or not CAB approval was required
when an existing condominium relandscapes its property.
Mrs. Stewart will check on this matter.
The subject of Regency Highland landscaping property east of
A-1-A was discussed.
Questions were raised relative to the completion of Mr. Urbanek' s
buildings at the north end of the Town.
