MEETING HELD TUESDAY
December 21, 1976
Mrs. Stewart, Chairman, called the meeting to order, at
7 :30 P.M. in the Town Hall at Highland Beach. All regular
members being present, as well as one alternate.
Present: Mrs. Becker, Mr. Beekman, Mr. Rex,
Mr. Schubert, Mrs. Stewart and
Mr. Roy (alternate)
Absent: Mrs. Jaffe (alternate)
A motion was made by Mr. Beekman, seconded by Mr. Schubert to
approve the minutes as presented.
REGENCY HIGHLAND CLUB, 3912 South Ocean Boulevard
Mr. Ron Schwartz, Sales Representative present.
TEMPORARY SALES SIGN Item #1 (double faced sign, same place
as existing sales sign) .
A motion was made by Mr. Rex, seconded by Mr. Schubert that this
sign in its amended form be accepted by the Board. Amendment
made by Mrs. Becker that it be subject to proof that the existing
sign conforms in size to the sign ordinance; seconded by Mr.
Schubert. Aye votes on amendment Beekman, Schubert, Rex, Becker,
Stewart and Roy. Aye votes on the motion with amendment, Beekman,
Schubert, Rex, Becker, Stewart and Roy.
PERMANENT NAME SIGN Item #2
At the request of Mr. Schwartz, this item will be tabled until
the next meeting of the C.A. B.
TEMPORARY SALES SIGN Item #3
Mr. Schubert moved that the Board disapprove this sign on the
grounds that aesthetically it would be detrimental; seconded
by Mr. Rex. Aye votes. .Beekman, Becker, Schubert, Rex and Stew-
art.

REGENCY HIGHLAND
TEMPORARY PLAN FOR AREA EAST OF CONSTRUCTION WALL
It was moved by Mr. Schubert that the Board approve this tem-
porary landscaping plan for aesthetic appearance only as an
improvement to the site, but this in no way implies acceptance
by other agencies. Seconded by Mr. Rex. Aye votes. . . Beekman,
Becker, Schubert, Rex and Stewart.
OLD BUSINESS
Chairman Stewart distributed to all the members the letter
written by Attorney Sliney regarding on-site inspections rela-
tive to the Government in the Sunshine Law.
Correspondence was also read from Mr. Schott, the Building Of-
ficial stating that a Certificate of Occupancy has been issued
to Houck. (letter dated December 13, 1976 stated that additional
plantings had been made and C.O. issued. )
es+, At 8:55 P.M. the Board requested to listen to the tape of the
Special Meeting of the Town Commission which was held on Tues-
day, December 14th with regard to the C.A.B. making on-site
inspections. A memo dated December 15, 1976 was received from
the Town Manager, directed to the C.A. B. requesting that the
Board not hold any on site inspections. The Board then listened
to the tape of the Town Commission meeting relative to the
Community Appearance Board. A lengthy discussion was held and
the Board decided that they will hold a meeting on Thursday,
January 6, 1977 at the Town Hall for the purpose of reviewing
the criteria of the C.A.B. So moved by Mrs. Becker, seconded
by Mr. Rex. Aye votes. .Schubert, Beekman, Roy, Becker, Rex and
Stewart. Secretary to notify all members regarding meeting time
and place.
CORRESPONDENCE:
The Chairman read the letter dated December 13, 1976 reappointing
Mrs. Jaffe as an alternate. . . term from 11/76 to 11/77 .

The Chairman also read notification received from the Land
Planning Committee regarding public hearings scheduled for
January 12th, 19th, and 26th at 7 :30 P.M. to be held in the
Town Hall regarding the comprehensive land use plan.
A letter was also read from David Reid the Tax Appraiser, which
had been sent to Mrs. Roberts, stating that he was sending a
complimentary copy of mylar maps to the Town.
A list of Botannical and common name of plants was distributed.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Don Rex was elected Chairman and James Schubert was elected
Vice Chairman by written ballot.
Mrs. Stewart, the outgoing chairman, received a vote of thanks
from the Board in appreciation of her outstanding leadership
over the past four years.
