Vice Chairman Leng called the meeting to order at 7 :40 p.m. The Agenda is
Attachment "A" .

MINUTES
Vice Chairman Leng, acting in the absence of Chairman Schubert noted the
first order of business to be examination of minutes of the meeting of
September 27, 1979. Mrs . Stewart moved to postpone approval of minutes
until the review of applications on the agenda for this meeting has been
completed, Mrs. Becker seconded, all aye votes .

No representative present. Review of application postponed until end of

Travieso' s landscape change as noted in minutes of September 27, 1979.

Motion by Mrs. Stewart, seconded by Mrs . Becker, to approve landscape.
Mrs . Becker, Mr. Hile, Mrs . Stewart and Mrs . Leng voted aye.

GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD
At 7 :50 p.m. the members of theBoard present agreed to postpone the review
of this application until representative was present. Mr. Wolfgang Stau
was present at approximately 9:00 p.m. and temporary sign plan presented,
was examined. Members of the Board present, Mrs . Becker, Mrs . Stewart,
Mrs . Leng and Mr . Hile agreed application for temporary sign must be pre-
sented when building permit is issued.

GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD
Mrs . Stewart noted as of October 25, 1979, there were nine signs and four
flags at the site of the Tenneva project, and Mrs. Stewart indicated the
landscaping plan as presented will emphasize the sameness of the buildings .
Larger trees are needed for landscape plan. Following general discussion
relative to building plans and approval, members of the Board agreed to
examine plans at a later date.

Following examination of plan, Mrs . Stewart moved to accept the building
plan as presented, seconded by Mr. Hile. Mrs . Becker, Mrs. Stewart, Mrs .
Leng and Mr. Bile, voted aye for approval.
LANDSCAPE
GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD
Mrs . Leng read from minutes of meeting of September 27, 1979, regarding
change of pool, whirlpool and dock location changed on plan. Board to ex-
amine color code, lighting schedule and sign at a later date. Following
discussion regarding developers plans for clearing site, landscape plan
was examined by Board members.
MT .Reinde_noted that every effort will be made by the developers to follow
the plan fairly in a way that will not completely devoid the plot of trees
during the construction period.
r' BOARD DECISION AND VOTING
Mrs. Stewart moved that we accept the landscape plan and that the existing
trees that are to be saved on the site will be staked out so that the root
system of the trees are not damaged by the bulldozer. Mr. Bile seconded
Mrs . Stewart, Mrs . Leng, Mrs . Becker and Mr. Hile, voted aye .
Mrs . Stewart noted the stake out of trees required by the CAB should be
followed up by inspections of staked areas while project is under way. Mrs.
Stewart suggested making inspections once a month to check these staked areas .
Mrs . Stewart requested that the following be included in minutes of this
meeting, referring to landscape plans, "be sure we agree parking is not
going to be screened from the road and that we are waiving criteria for
this particular project only. "
TEMPORARY SIGN
GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD
Board recommended replacing "INTRACOASTAL" as shown on plan presented,
with "WATERFRONT" .

Motion by Mrs . Becker, seconded by Mrs . Stewart to approve sign as amended.

Following discussion relative to existing structure on site and approved
plans, Mrs. Stewart moved that Mr . Wunderlich be contacted to check the
approved plans with the building on the site. Mrs . Becker, seconded. Mrs .
Leng, Mr. Hile, Mrs. Stewart and Mrs . Becker voted aye.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Mr. Hile noted revised application for review form has been discussed with
Building Official F. Hamzik. Mr. Hile will present revised copy during
the week of November 29th for duplication. Copies of applications for CAB
review are distributed by the Building Department
Location of Jiffy Johns at projects in Town was noted. Building Official
F. Hamzik will be contacted to explore the possibility of changing locations
of these facilities in Town.
SITE INSPECTION FOR C/O APPROVAL
H. A. HAWKINS, LOT #10, 1118 BEL AIR DRIVE
Mr. Hile advised he had inspected H. A. Hawkins site located at 1118 Bel
Air Drive, Lot #10, and had advised Building Official F. Hamzik that the
project met with requirements . One dead palm tree will be removed. Mrs.
Stewart moved that the Hawkins project having been inspected by Mr. Hile

and so reported, be approved. Mrs . Becker, seconded. Mr. Hile, Mrs. Leng,
Mrs. Becker and Mrs. Stewart voted aye. Vice Chairman Leng noted that the
certificate of occupancy approval recommendation is not voted upon until
the meeting following the inspection.
Vice Chairman Leng recommended attendance of more than one member at site
inspections for c/o approval and suggested field trips be scheduled for
larger project inspections. Members agreed that a report in writing is to
be presented to F. Hamzik following these inspections, copy to be included
in minutes.
ADJOURNMENT
Vice Chairman Leng noted the next regular meeting of the Community Appear-
ance Board is scheduled for Thursday, November 29, 1979, at 7 :30 p.m. The
Agenda closes at 12 :00 noon on Thursday, November 15, 1979.
Mr . Hile moved to adjourn the meeting, Mrs. Leng seconded, the regular
meeting was adjourned at 10 : 35 p.m.
Following the regular meeting a discussion was held with Mrs. Leng, Mr. _"
Hile, Mr. Toth and Mr. Hollohazy of Descan, Inc. , representing North Star
Development Inc. 2901 South Ocean Blvd. , Highland Beach, Florida Lot #112/
#113 . Mr. Hollohazy had requested a hearing and was advised that the
Community Appearance Board could not examine the application presented at
this time since the review was not scheduled on the agenda for this meeting.
The application for review will be presented for the meeting scheduled for
November 29, 1979.
