Chairman B . J. Stewart called the meeting to order at 7 :30 p.m. , advising
this was a regular meeting of the Community Appearance Board. The Agenda
is Attachment "A" .

MINUTES
Minutes of the meeting of February 28, 1980, were examined. Following
examination and discussion, Mrs . Becker moved to accept the minutes as
amended, ATTACHMENT "B" , Mrs . Leng seconded. Mrs . Leng, Mrs . Becker,
Mr. Lorenz, Mr. Hile and Mrs . Stewart voted aye .
Chairman Stewart read letter dated March 3, 1980, from Mayor Horton and
members of the Town Commission, noting appointment of Norman Hile as a
regular member to replace Mr. Donald K. Rex. Mr. Hile ' s term will end
March 1982 . ATTACHMENT "C" .
Chairman Stewart read letter dated February 22, 1980, to Mrs . E. W. Roberts
taIN relative to Agenda Closings Policy, and noted Town Attorney Sliney' s letter
to Mrs. Roberts referencing requirement on the CAB application for Affi-
davit of Ownership, ATTACHMENT "D" .
Members agreed to continue to operate under the policy of having people
speak from the audience . Members agreed to follow the policy of closing
Agenda fifteen days prior to meetings.

approved with the understanding that the Board members making the in-
spection at the time of C/O will report back on the possible need for
additional landscaping and the developer will be advised of the need for
this additional landscaping if necessary. Mrs . Leng, seconded. Mr. Hile,

to the recording secretary - on March 31, 1980 - their individual approval

LANDSCAPE
GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD
Board members agreed to delay approval of landscape plans pending further
examination at next meeting. Plan should show holding area for trees,
shrubs and plants to be retained. Some thought should be given to sea
grape and malayan palms .
BOARD DECISION AND VOTING.
Motion by Mrs . Becker to delay approval of this landscape plan until next
month. At that time applicant will bring to the CAB a more detailed plan
showing the holding areas for specific plants that need to be held and
indicating the amplification of shrubbery and berm details . The de-
tailed plan for one unit will be sufficient if the plan allows for dupli-

NEW BUSINESS
Chairman Stewart introduced candidates for the vacancy existing on the
Community Appearance Board. Mrs . Giglio, Mrs . Gerber, Mrs . Martin, Mr.
Turboss and Mr. Sullivan gave brief resumes of their interests and
qualifications . Mrs . Becker moved to recommend appointment of Mrs .Toni
Giglio as 1st Alternate .Mr .Lorenz seconded. All aye votes .Letter Attached.
Chairman Stewart noted that on March 18, 1980, she had advised Mayor
Horton and members of the Town Commission of the existing vacancies
on the Community Appearance Board. Mayor Horton' s reply dated March 20,
1980, is ATTACHMENT " E " . Mrs . Stewart noted that several applications
have been received.
Chairman Stewart advised that the next item to be considered would be
the Wunderlich buildings . Mr. Hamzik had been requested to notify the
Community Appearance Board of plan changes of exterior buildings,
ATTACHMENT " F " , dated February 11, 1980 . Mr. Hamzik ' s reply is ATTACHMENT
" F" , dated March 19, 1980, subject "Plan Changes in Exterior of Build-
ings.
n Chairman Stewart noted that the report by Mrs . Leng on signs in Highland
Beach, will be considered at a later date.
Chairman Stewart noted that in a letter from Town Attorney Thomas E .
Sliney, referring to the question of the requirement of a submission
of affidavit of ownership on the Community Appearance Board Application
for Project Review, Item 5, page 2 of 2, Town Attorney Sliney advised
as, follows "I do not see under Section 2-52, Powers and Duties of the
Community Appearance Board, that the Community Appearance Board needs
to require an affidavit of ownership. " , ATTACHMENT " D " •
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Hile moved to adjourn the regular meeting. Mr . Lorenz seconded.

regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 1980, 7 : 30 p.m.

the procedure used in examining plans prior to meetings . Mr. Hile and
Mr. Lorenz will examine plans presented for the next meeting.

appointed a regular member.
• Memos from the Town Manager on Mar. 18 were noted regarding
candidates for alternates.
The candidates for alternate gave brief resumes of their interests
and gqualification. They werre thanked for coming and excused
