Chairman Amelie Leng called the regular meeting to order at 7 :32 p.m. .

MINUTES
Minutes of the meeting of January 29, 1981 were examined. Following
reading of the minutes by members, Mr. Lorenz moved to approve the
minutes as submitted with one deletion. Mrs. Giglio seconded the motion.
All aye votes, Mr. Lorenz, Mrs. Giglio, Mrs . Leng.

Motion by Mrs. Giglio, second, G. G. Lorenz, to approve the revised plan
with the additional schefflera (to screen electric meters) . All aye votes,
Mr. Lorenz, Mrs. Leng, Mrs. Giglio.

Motion by Mrs. Giglio, that the Boca Hi sign replacing the old sign be
wproved as submitted and be placed in exactly the same location as the
old sign. The spotlight is to be removed. Second,Mr. Lorenz. All aye
votes, Mr. Lorenz, Mrs. Leng, Mrs. Giglio.

Motion by Mr. Lorenz, second by Mrs. Giglio that the revised landscape
plan be approved and native trees that have died are to be replaced by
similar native trees. All aye votes, Mrs. Giglio, Mrs. Leng, Mr. Lorenz.
GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD
Dead gumbo limbo trees on the property bordering Mayor Horton' s property
a total of three gumbo limbo trees, to be replaced.
BEACH WALK EAST. 3201 S/O BLVD. LOT 102 EAST. EBAN MEDLICOTT, REPRESEN-
TATIVE PRESENT.
BOARD DECISION AND VOTING
Motion by Mr. Lorenz, second, Mrs. Giglio, that revised plans be approved.
These include revision to windows, roof equipment screen, fascia on first
floor parking cover to include solid wall facing AlA with a planter on ex-
isting garages,euiodification of tiling under the porte cochere. A revised
drawing of sheet L2 will be submitted within thirty (30) days showing the
revision of the porte cochere. All aye votes, Mr. Lorenz, Mrs. Giglio,
Mrs. Leng.

Mr. Davis Custage addressed the members of the Board advising that "The
purpose of my visit tonight is to respectfully request that the Board
in its judgement put back as a requirement for the permanent C/O that
the lights be taken care of" .
BOARD DECISION AND VOTING
Motion by Mr. Lorenz, second Mrs. Giglio, "that the deficiency regarding
flood lighting at Dalton Place be reinstated as one of the reasons that
The Community Appearance Board can not recommend granting a C/O. Board
recommends that Dalton Phe be given an additional thirty day (30) ex-
tension of their temporary C/O in order to resolve the situation. Mrs.
Leng, Mr. Lorenz and Mrs. Giglio voted aye.
Mayor Louis Y. Horton, in audience, commended the members of the Community
Appearance Board on their effort on behalf of the Town.
Mrs. Leng introduced Mrs . Doris Rome as candidate for appointment as member
of the Community Appearance Board.
Following discussion, Mr. Lorenz moved that recommendation be made to the
e" Town Commission to appoint Mr. D. A. Conte as Regular Member. Mrs. Giglio
seconded the motion. Mr. Lorenz, Mrs. Giglio and Mrs. Leng voted aye. Mr.
Conte will replace Mr. Norman Hile who has resigned.
Mr. Lorenz moved to recommend that recommendation be made to the Town Com-
mission to appoint Mrs. Doris Rome as First Alternate. Mrs. Giglio sec-
onded. Mrs. Leng, Mrs. Giglio and Mr. Lorenz voted aye. Letter advising
of this action will be forwarded to the Town Commission, copy attached.
Chairman Leng noted that Mr. Hamzik has been advised that the "LE CONCORDE"
project, Lot 87/89 (formerly Shoreland/Norrine) , 3505 S/0 Blvd. , is un-
sightly and Mrs. Leng advised that the owners of the property have been
so informed.
Chairman Leng acknowledged receipt of a letter dated February 5, 1981,
from W. Taft Bradshaw and Associates regarding "CARRON HOUSE" Landscaping,
copy attached. Boca Highland is to be advised that they will be heard
at the next regular meeting of the Community Appearance Board, scheduled
for March 26, 1981. Chairman Leng noted that the owner of each project
as shown on the application for CAB review, is to be advised relative to
his inclusion on the Agenda for the next CAB meeting.
n Chairman Leng read Ordinance #407 to members, relating to Officers and
Employees of the Town; Providing for the Defense and Indemnification of
any Officer or Employee of the Town in any Civil action against the per-
formance of duties, providing for codification; providing an effective date.

Chairman Leng dictated the following memorandum to be sent to Building
Official F. Hamzik, subject, "Fence at Carron House site" :
' The split rail fence protecting the trees in front of the Carron House is
not in place as promised, and gates should enclose the opening in the con-
struction fence facing SR AlA.
Chairman Leng noted' that the Code Enforcement Board has advised that the
case concerning the sea grape tree has been dismissed with a warning that
if the sea grape tree dies, it must be replaced (Parker Highland) . ' Mr.
Lorenz suggested that in the future, a member of the CAB might attend Code
Enforcement Board meetings to speak for the Community Appearance Board.
' The Code Enforcement Board would like the CAB to record the memo responding
to the order and to keep them informed and the Code Enforcement Board is
relying on the CAB to be sure that the destroyed trees are replaced at the
Parker Highland East, landscaping in match kinds and size. ' Letter to be
sent to Mr. Soll Roehner, Code Enforcement Board Chairman, copy attached.
Chairman Leng noted the C/O Inspection schedule for the Community Appear-
ance Board is as follows :

ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Lorenz moved to adjourn the meeting, Mrs. Giglio, seconded. Mrs . Leng,
Mrs. Giglio and Mr. Lorenz voted aye. The regular meeting was adjourned
at 11:20 a.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 26,
1981, at 7 :30 p.m.
