Chairman Leng called the special meeting to order at 10 :04 a.m. advising this was a special meeting called by the Community Appearance Board, Town of Highland Beach, Florida . Present: Amelie Leng, Doris R. Rome, John F. Schneider, F.Savino and Antoinette Giglio Absent: N. C. Martin, D. A. Conte Chairman Leng noted this was a special meeting called to review plans sub- mitted by the Town of Highland Beach, for the new Municipal Complex. Mr. L. Mangus, Landscape Architect, and Mr. Roy Simon, Architect, were present, and Town Manager E. W. Roberts . GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD Canopy type tree to be planted in circle type planter area, 14 to 16 ft. at the discretion of Mr. Mangus, to meet the Highland Beach criteria re- quirements i.e. , green buttonwood or similar. A lighting schedule is to be presented for examination at the meeting scheduled for January 28, 1982 . The sprinkler system is to be indicated on the plans, for approval at the January meeting. Mr. Mangus explained the reason for the proposed elimin- ation of the pine hedge at the Police Station "To conform with plans for landscaping at the new Town Complex structure. " BOARD DECISION AND VOTING Motion by Mrs. Rome, second, Mr. Schneide , to accept the/iew and old plans with the note that lighting and sprinkling have yet to be submitted to the Community Appearance Board. OCEAN DUNES. LOT 106 EAST. P. CONNOR, OWNER. REVIEW OF COLOR OF STRUCTURE. JAMES STANLEY, VICE PRESIDENT, OCEAN DUNES DEVELOPMENT CORP. , PRESENT. BOARD DECISION AND VOTING Motion by Mrs . Rome, second, Mrs. Giglio, to accept the color change from beige to white on the Ocean Dunes Condominium, subject to the repair of the north wall, facing Ocean Pines, by the Contractor. All aye votes, Mrs. Rome, Mrs. Leng, Mrs. Giglio and Mr. Schneider. Chairman Leng noted receipt of Mrs. Giglio' s resignation. Members agreed to recommendation of Mr. J. S . Schneider to fill vacancy as a regular member, Mr. Savino to be appointed 1st Alternate. Applications to fill the 2nd Alternate vacancy, will be examined and recommendations made at a later date. Copy of letter to Town Commission attached, dated January 28, 1982 . BEACH WALK WEST LOT 102 WEST. TEMPORARY SIGN. TARMO PURRE, REPRESENTATIVE PRESENT. BOARD DECISION AND VOTING Motion by Mrs. Rome, second Mr. Schneider, to accept the corrected tempor- ary sign for Beach Walk West. All aye votes, Mrs. Rome, Mr. Schneider, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Leng. BEACH WALK WEST LOT 102 WEST (CONT' D. ) 24 ft. sabal palm tree at north corner of structure to be removed, and re- placed with shorter tree to provide view for current resident. A discussion relative to lights used in garages followed. Mr. Hamzik will advise the CAB regarding lighting fixtures to be used in garages. Chairman Leng noted receipt of letter from Digby C. Bridges relative to CONNAUGHT INC. , LOT 71 WEST. It was determined no fee is to be levied for changes made in plans . Members agreed to hold a workshop Meeting on February 11, 1982, at 9:30 a .m. Mrs. Rome recommended that this workshop meeting address only Community Appearance Board procedures. In reply to letter dated January 11, 1982, received requesting inspection for final c/o, members agreed that Townhouses of Highland Beach project was not ready for certification of occupancy at this time. Letter to James C. Stanley, dated January 19, 1982 , is attached. ADJOURNMENT Members of the Community Appearance Board agreed to hold meetings during the months of February and March, 1982, at 9:30 a.m. Meetings are scheduled as follows : Thursday Feb. 11 Workshop Meeting 9: 30 a.m. Thursday Feb. 25 Regular Meeting 9: 30 a .m. Thursday March 25 Regular Meeting 9:30 a.m. Mrs. Rome moved to adjourn the special meeting, Mr. Schneider seconded. Mrs. Leng, Mrs. Rome, Mr. Schneider and Mrs . Giglio voted aye. The special meeting was adjourned at 1:05 p.m. r
