REGULAR MEETING HELD JULY 29, 1982 . CASUARINA. CORONA DEL MAR.

Chairman Amelie Leng called the regular meeting to order at 9: 35 a .m. The
recording secretary called the roll. The agenda is attached.
Present: D. Rome, A. Leng, G. J. Galizia, J. F. Schneider,
F. Savino, N. C. Martin, Alt. , B. J. Stewart, Alt.
MINUTES
Minutes of the meeting held June 24, 1982, were reviewed. Motion by Mr.
Savino, second, Mr. Galizia , to approve the minutes as amended. All aye
votes, Mr. Savino, Mr. Schneider, Mrs. Rome, Mrs. Leng, Mr. Galizia.

BOARD DECISION AND VOTING
Motion by Mrs. Rome, second, Mr . Schneider, to accept the plans as amended.
Mrs. Leng voted aye, Mr. Savino, aye, Mr. Galizia, aye, Mrs. Rome,aye, Mr.
Schneider, aye.
Mrs. Leng advised that Zoning in progress was still valid here in Town, per
the Town Commission. Letter addressed to the Town Commission and Town Manager,
relative to Town Lots 4 & 5 EAST, was read by Mrs . Leng, copy attached.

Town Manager E. W. Roberts noted that revised plans have been sent to the
Planning Commission. Members agreed to recommend that the Town engage the
services of qualified landscape architects to advise the Board regarding
landscaping.
PHASE TWO (2) WEST. LOTS 4 & 6 WEST. BUILDING "A"
Mr. Vaughn presented drawings that varied from the original plan, and in-
dicated he would welcome comments from the members of the Board.
General comments of the Board included a recommendation for colorful flower-
ing trees and plants to be included in the landscape plan for PHASE TWO (2) .
The Board requested that Australian pines, sea grape, fig and other native
trees be saved. Letter addressed to Mrs . Leng, dated July 21, 1982, was
read, copy attached. No further action taken.
OCEAN TERRACE NORTH. LOT 103 EAST. 3115 S/O BLVD. JIM STANLEY, REPRESEN-
TATIVE PRESENT.
BOARD DECISION AND VOTING
Motion by Mr. Schneider, second Mr. Savino, to grant approval for issuance
es.'` of a certificate of occupancy with provisions as noted in report of in-
spection by Mr. J. F. Schneider, copy attached. Mrs. Leng voted aye. Mrs.
Rome, aye, Mr. Schneider, aye, Mr. Galizia, aye, Mr. Savino, aye. Work is
to be completed within thirty (30) days. Mr. Stanley will notify the Build-
ing Department when the work is completed.

GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD
Letter dated July 13, 1982, from David E. Pomfret, to Building Department,
re: THE CLARENDON, request for final C/O, copy attached.
BOARD DECISION AND VOTING
Motion by Mrs. Rome, second, Mr. Savino, "that we adhere to our Criteria
and our policy for granting Certificates of Occupancy and that we do not
walk through CLARENDON'S landscaping until the building has been repainted
so that we can approve it as a complete package. " Mr. Schneider voted aye,
Mrs . Rome, aye, Mr. Savino, aye, Mr. Galizia, aye, Mrs . Leng, aye .
Chairman Leng advised the members that the Town Commission has requested
that the Sign Ordinance be examined and updated by the Community Appear-
ance Board. Members are to review the Ordinance and discussion will be
held at a future meeting.
Members agreed to hold a Workshop Meeting on Thursday, August 5, 1982,
at 9: 30 a .m. , to examine the Sign Ordinance.
Mrs. Stewart will contact Mr. Rick Wolf relative to serving as a consultant
for the Community Appearance Board for landscaping approvals.
Chairman Leng read letter from Pamela B. Reader Consultant, with the
Coastal Revegetation Inc. , copy attached.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Leng called for a motion to adjourn, Mr. Savino moved to adjourn,
Mr. Galizia, seconded. Mr. Savino voted aye, Mr. Galizia , aye, Mrs. Rome,
aye, Mrs. Leng, aye and Mr . Schneider, aye. The regular meeting was ad-
journed at 12 : 50 p.m.
