CORONA DEL MAR, LOTS 4 & 5 EAST, LOTS 4 & 6 WEST. erfr Chairman Amelie Leng called the meeting to order noting this was a contin- uation of the Regular Meeting held on Thursday, August 26, 1982 . The roll was called. Present: F. Savino, D. R. Rome, G. J. Galizia, N. C. Martin, B . J. Stewart and A. Leng, Chairman Leng advised that continued examination of the plans for the Milan project "CORONA DEL MAR" , on Lots 4 & 5 EAST was the first order of busines Mrs. Stewart indicated the minutes of the meeting should contain reference to the fact that Dr. Daniel Austin is a Professor of Botany at Florida Atlantic University CORONA DEL MAR. 4705/4701 SOUTH OCEAN BLVD. C. D. MILANI, OWNER. DIGBY C. BRIDGES ARCHITECT. KURT KETTLEHUT, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT, ROBERT VAUGHN, REPRESENTATIVES . BOARD DECISION AND VOTING Chairman Leng made the following motio : "I wqulld6like to make the follow- ing motion, which is based upon 3.3 op.: our -Criteria: We, the Community Appearance Board have done our duty by acting in response to the Planning Commission. We have tried diligently to consider the plans in regard to our criteria as it relates to the people of our community. This lovely established area of one and two story buildings is an aesthetic asset to the area and the entrance of Highland Beach. Therefore, I am asking this Board to deny this plan because of the building' s excessive size and dom- inance in an otherwise established low scale area. " Mrs. Rome seconded the motion. The vote was as follows : Mr. Savino, aye (for motion) , Mrs . Stewart, aye (for motion) , Mr. Galizia, abstained, Mrs. Rome, aye (for motion) , Mrs. Leng, aye (for motion) . The motion was carried. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT, R. VAUGHN, REPRESENTATIVES . GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD Members examined plans for roof, agreed on tile roof, fixed benches, planters with drainage, and roof drainage. Landscape plans were examined. BOARD DECISION AND VOTING - Motion by Mrs. Rome, second, Mr. Galizia "that we accept the plans asi). c + ` amended. Board recommended Building Department write to devel- oper. CLARENDON GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD Letter from Mr. David E. Pomfret, CoMan International Inc. , dated August 31, 1982, relative to final walk through at the Clarendon project, was read by Mrs. Leng. Letter is to be sent to Mr. Pomfret advising previous decision of Board made at August 31, 1982 meeting, remains in effect. Copies of letters attached. Letter of resignation from Mr. John F. Schneider was read. Letter will be sent to Mr. Schneider acknowledging his resignation with regret. Copies of letters attached. Letter of recommendation for appointment of Board members as follows, will be sent to the Town Commission. Copy attached. Nita C. Martin Regular Member Louise P. Johnson Alternate # 2 Letter from Mr. Paul Smith, dated August 16, 1982 was read by Mrs. Leng. Copy of letter with CAB reply, attached. Chairman Leng read letter received from Digby C. Bridges relative to shadows cast by buildings. Board agreed they would like to hear a pre- sentation by Mr. Bridges on the subject. Inspection will be made of the CASUARINA sales trailer, by Mrs. Martin. Mrs. Martin will make inspections for September, Mr. Savino will make inspections for October. Chairman Leng noted she will be unable to attend the September meeting. Mrs. Rome will chair this meeting.
