Vice Chairman Doris Rome called the meeting to order at 9: 30 a .m. , ad- vising this was a regular meeting of the Community Appearance Board,Town of Highland Beach, Florida. The recording secretary called the roll. The agenda is attached. Present: G. J. Galizia, F. Savino, D. Rome, N. C. Martin B. J. Stewart. Absent: A. Leng MINUTES Acting Chairman Doris Rome noted that Mrs. Nita C. Martin has been ap- pointed as a regular member of the Community Appearance Board. Mrs. Louise P. Johnson has been appointed as an Alternate Member. Mrs. Stewart moved to defer the reading of the minutes and proceed with the reading of the memorandum from Town Manager E. W. Roberts, dated September 22, 1982 . Mr. Galizia seconded the motion. Mr. Savino voted aye, Mr. Galizia, aye, Mrs. Rome, aye, Mrs. Martin, aye and Mrs. Stewart aye. The reading of the minutes was deferred. The memo from Mrs. Roberts, Town Manager, relative to "Agenda for Sept- ember 30, 1982, Corona Del Mar, Lots 4 & 5 East" , was read by Acting Chairman Rome. Mrs. Rome noted that the Town Commission had reversed the decision of the Community Appearance Board on Lots 4 & 5 East. The plans were returned to the Community Appearance Board by the Town Commission. Mrs. Rome advised that the plans would be stamped and signed by Commun- ity Appearance Board members. Mr. Frank Savino, Mr. Guy J. Galizia, and Mrs . Nita C. Martin signed the stamp of approval on the plans as directed by the Town Commission. Acting Chairman Rome noted the next order of business to be approval of the minutes of August 26, 1982 and August 31, 1982 . Mrs. Stewart made the following request regarding the Corona Del Mar project: "Include the following in Paragraph 4, line fifteen, following "aye" , ' Criteria: 3 . 3; 3 .5; 4. (a) ; 7. (a) ; 7. (b) . ' . Mrs. Stewart requested that the aye vote indicated in the minutes be changed to read "no" , in Paragraph six, line three, under "Corona Del Mar West. BOARD DECISION AND VOTING Motion by Mr. Savino, second, Mr. Galizia, to accept plans, sprinkler sys- tem; paint of building (change to white) ; roof tile (change to torri tile tan) ; landscape; all as shown on plans presented to Community Appearance Board on 9/30/82 . PERIMETER WALL. PRELIMINARY REVIEW. BOARD DECISION AND VOTING Acting Chairman Doris Rome read letter dated September 8, 1982, addressed to Mr. Michael Carey (S. A. Healy Co. ) Subject, Maravilla wall on East and West side of AlA, written by E. W. Roberts, Town Manager, copy at- tached. The letter advised that the Town Commission had approved the modified concept that had been displayed to them for the wall. The letter also noted that "The Town Commission also understands your assurance that you will plant trees and shrubs as shown on the rendering that you displayed to them during the meeting" . The Community Appearance Board requested presentation of details of wall and gates. Applicant will return for final r\ review at next CAB meeting. HARCOURT SYLVESTER. 2445 SOUTH OCEAN BLVD. GENERAL COMMENTS OF THE BOARD Acting Chairman Doris Rome read letter addressed to the Planning Com- mission, dated August 30, 1982, from F. Hamzik, copy attached, relative to the Boca Hi Beach Club deck. Following examination of plan submitted, members of the Board agreed to approve the plans. Letter advising the Town Commission of the decision of the Community Appearance Board to approve the proposed changes as shown on the plans submitted September 30, 1982, is attached. Copy to Town Manager. Acting Chairman Rome noted that Mrs . Leng had advised the Edgewater Town- houses have not replaced their temporary sign with a permanent sign, as required by the Code. /� r Mrs. Rome read letter dated September 9, 1982, to the Community Appearance Board and Town Commission, from the Building Department, subject: Exit Lights on Carron House. BOARD DECISION AND VOTING Following report by Mrs. Martin, with a recommendation that the Board approve the request for approval for the sales trailer, Mrs. Stewart moved to approve the request, Mr. Galizia, seconded. Mr. Savino voted aye, Mr. Galizia, aye, Mrs. Rome, aye, Mrs. Martin, aye, Mrs. Stewart, aye. Mr. Savino read a report on the Greening Committee activities . Mrs. Rome advised members of the Board she will not be present at the meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 28, 1982. A general discussion and review of the Sign Ordinance followed. Attached is copy of Sign Ordinance, Chapter 23 of the Code of Ordinances with re- commended changes indicated. Acting Chairman Doris Rome advised the regular meeting was adjourned at 11 : 55 a .m.
