PRELIMINARY PROJECT REVIEW - "B" & "C" SITES, RPJD *1 SIGN
ORDINANCE REVISIONS
Chairman Nita C. Martin called the meeting to order at 9: 30 a .m. , advising
this was a regular meeting of the Community Appearance Board, Town of High-
land Beach, Florida. The recording secretary called the roll . The agenda
is attached.
Present: L. P. Johnson, A. Keller, F. Savino, N. C. Martin,
G. J. Galizia, A. Leng, H. C. Arnold.
MINUTES
Minutes of the meeting held October 27, 1983 and the meeting held Feb-
ruary 23, 1984, were approved as written following motion by Mrs . Martin
seconded by Mr. Galizia . Mrs . Johnson voted aye, Mr . Savino, aye, Mr.
Galizia, aye, Mrs . Leng, aye and Chairman Martin aye .
Mr. Thomas L. Delaney introduced the presentation of the Boca Hi Plan
for "B" and "C" Buildings and Townhouses. Mr. Delaney noted that this
was a preliminary project review in concept. Mr . Delaney introduced
Mr. John Glyman, Planner and Landscape Architect. Mr. Glyman reviewed
results of previous meetings with the Highland Beach Planning Commission.
A three (3) tower concept over a survey of the project showing parking
r'"1 garage and tennis courts was shown following request by Mrs . Leng.
A general discussion followed covering the Community Appearance Board
General Criteria . Mr. Glyman noted there will be a maximum of two (2)
stories in the parking garage.
At the conclusion of Mr. Glyman' s presentation Chairman Martin called
for a motion to appoint Mr. Arthur Keller as a regular member to fill
the vacancy left by Mrs . Leng ' s completion of term. Mr. Savino moved
to appoint Mr. Keller as a regular member, Mr. Galizia, seconded the
motion. Mrs. Johnson voted aye, Mr. Savino, aye, Mrs. Martin, aye, Mr.
Galizia, aye and Mrs . Leng aye.
Mrs. Leng whose term is ending with the Board, spoke of her time spent
with the CAB and indicated the Board was very supportive, as was the
Town Commission.
Members of the Board agreed to recommend the appoint-
ment of Mrs . Harris as Chairman of the Greening Committee of AlA. Mrs .
Harris will fill the vacancy left by resignation of Mr. Savino. Mr.
Savino spoke of a meeting of the Greening Committee regarding plaques on
trees,election of officers and noted receipt of memo from Mayor L. Y.
Horton relative to the Greening Committee becoming a part of the Com-
munity Appearance Board. Motion was made by Mr . Savino, seconded by

Mrs . Leng to submit recommendation to the Town Commission. Mrs . Johnson
voted aye, Mrs. Leng, aye, Mr. Galizia, aye, Mr. Savino, aye and Chairman
Martin, aye.

HIGHLAND ASSOCIATES - 1107 RUSSELL DRIVE. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL TO SUB-
STITUTE PLANTINGS . MR. SANDIEGO
Mrs. Martin noted the request made by Mr. Sandiego for approval for
substitute plantings on the Highland Associates project site, 1107
Russell Drive.
Following completion of the scheduled business, Chairman Martin called
for the members of the Board to continue the review of the Sign Ordin-
ance.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman martin called for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mrs .
Johnson moved to adjourn, Mr. Galizia seconded the motion. Mr. Savino
voted aye, Mr. Galizia , aye, Mrs. Leng, aye, Mrs . Johnson, aye and
Chairman Martin, aye. The regular meeting was adjourned at 12 : 15 p.m.
