COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
MINUTES
Thursday, October 26, 1995 9 : 30 A.M.
Chair Elvine Gordon called the Regular Meeting to order at 9 : 30
A.M.
Deputy Town Clerk Jane Dillon called the roll . Present were Chair
Gordon, Vice Chair Behrman, Members Frank Arenella, Miriam Zwick,
Theresa Colarullo, Norman Stevens and Abraham Futernick .
Chair Gordon introduced New Building Official Ed Hardy to the
Board. Members of the general public were also present .
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Upon MOTION by MRS . ZWICK/MR. FUTERNICK the Minutes of the
September 28, 1995 Regular Meeting were unanimously approved.
NEW BUSINESS
Final Certificate of Occupancy for single family residence at 3905
S . Ocean Blvd. , Lot 57 East (North) , submitted by Al Giachetti
(Applicant/Owner. )
Mr. Arenella and Mrs . Zwick conducted an inspection of the property
and found the home to be in conformance with the requirements .
Mr. Arenella also noted that the home is a compliment to Highland
Beach.
Mr. Giachetti addressed the Board and answered any
questions they had. Mr. Hardy also stated his approval
upon his inspection of the home . He did note that on the West
side of the road there was some damage to the sod caused
by vehicles parking, which would be replaced within the
week. Mr. Hardy also noted that there was some damage to
the bicycle path caused by the trucks. This will also be
repaired, by Florida Blacktop, at Mr. Giachetti ' s expense .
After discussion, the following MOTION was made by MRS . ZWICK/MR.
ARENELLA as follows :

OCEAN BOULEVARD, LOT 57 EAST (NORTH) , SUBMITTED BY AL
GIACHETTI (APPLICANT/OWNER. )

GREENING COMMITTEE
Mr. Stevens offered some additional information on tree prices
which he had obtained from local nurseries . The discussion turned
to how best advertise to the residents the availability of
remaining trees . It was suggested that it be mentioned in the
upcoming newsletter and placed on the Town' s channel 12 station.
Mr. Stevens also suggested possibly running an ad in the local
paper.
MISCELLANEOUS
There was discussion on the flooding problem on AlA, and the Board
suggested that in their C.O. inspections if they could take into
consideration how drainage from the driveway into the swale is
handled. It was suggested that perhaps a drainage system leading
the water underground to the beach would be appropriate in new
construction.
Town Manager Mary Ann Mariano will be invited to the next Regular
Meeting. The following subjects will be addressed:
1) Drainage problems on AlA
2) New Town of Highland Beach signs at the North and South end of
Town.
4) Holiday decorations
Inspectors for the month of November will be Mr. Stevens and Mr.
Behrman.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this
time, the meeting was adjourned upon MOTION by MR. STEVENS/MRS.
