1996.06.27_CAB_Minutes_Regular TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD REGULAR MEETING MINUTES Thursday, June 27, 1996 9 : 30 A.M. Chair Gordon called the Regular Meeting to order at 9 : 30 AM. Deputy Town Clerk Jane Dillon called the roll . Present were Chair Gordon, Vice Chair Behrman, Members Frank Arenella, Miriam Zwick, Theresa Colarullo, Norman Stevens and Abraham Futernick . Town Manager Mary Ann Mariano was present, as well as members of the public . APPROVAL OF MINUTES Upon MOTION by MR. FUTERNICK/MRS. ZWICK the minutes of the April 25, 1996 regular meeting were unanimously approved. NEW BUSINESS PRELIMINARY REVIEW FOR DEMOLITION OF EXISTING SINGLE FAMILY HOME, AND BUILDING A NEW SINGLE FAMILY HOME AT 4409 INTRACOASTAL DRIVE, BLOCK 4, LOT 8, BEL LIDO. JOHN D. CONWAY - ARCHITECT / DR. WIENER - OWNER. Architect John D. Conway spoke on behalf of the project , and answered questions of the Board. Chair Gordon expressed concern on the removal of the existing large tree in front of the present home, stressing she would rather see it remain or moved to a new location. Landscape architect Bernard Turner stated that the tree needed to be removed in order to plant landscaping in keeping with the design of the new home . With Mrs . Wiener' s and Ms . Mariano' s approval, it was recommended that the tree be donated and moved to city property, depending on cost and availability of space at Town Hall . With all questions answered, MOTION was made by MRS . ZWICK/MRS . COLARULLO as follows : THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD GIVES FINAL APPROVAL FOR DEMOLITION OF EXISTING SINGLE FAMILY HOME, AND BUILDING A NEW SINGLE FAMILY HOME AT 4409 INTRACOASTAL DRIVE, BLOCK 4, LOT 8, BEL LIDO . Community Appearance Board June 27, 1996 Page 2 of 2 OLD BUSINESS Town Manager Mary Ann Mariano answered concerns of the Board which were brought up in the April 25, 1996 regular meeting. (Memo of 4/25 to Ms. Mariano attached hereto and made a part of these minutes. ) There was discussion of each item as follows : 1 . Owners of 4100 have been asked to clean out their lot; additional lot owners in town have been asked to do same . The Town maintenance crew will be asked to pick up obvious dropped fronds, etc. on their daily tour of town. 2 . "Do not feed raccoon" signs are not feasible in town; residents may start asking that signs be placed for other concerns; individuals must take responsibility for their own actions. 3 . Bikepath signs are in conformance with state statute; language cannot be changed. It was suggested that a line item be placed in the next Community Newsletter stating the hazards of feeding wild animals, and reminding residents to issue audiable warning when riding bikes/rollerblades. Inspector for the month of July will be Frank Arenella. The next Regular meeting is scheduled for July 25 at 9 :30 a.m. with no further business to come before the Board, MOTION to adjourn was made by MR. ARENELLA/MR.
