1997.09.25_CAB_Minutes_Regular PUBLIC NOTICE TOWN OF HIGHLAND BEACH COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD REGULAR MEETING Thursday, September 25 , 1997 9 : 30 A.M. Vice Chair Eugene I . Behrman called the Regular Meeting to order in Town Hall at 9 : 30 A.M. Deputy Town Clerk Jane Dillon called the roll . Present were Chairman Eugene I . Behrman, Vice Chair Theresa M. Colarullo and Members Abraham Futernick, Miriam S. Zwick, Frank Savino and Norman Stevens . Frank Arenella was absent . Also present were Town Manager Mary Ann Mariano, Building Official Bob Dawson and members of the general public . APPROVAL OF MINUTES Upon MOTION by MR. FUTERNICK/MRS . ZWICK, the minutes of the August 28 , 1997 Regular Meeting were unanimously approved. NEW BUSINESS PRELIMINARY REVIEW FOR ALUMINUM FENCE INSTALLATION FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1106A BEL AIR DRIVE, LOT 7 , HIGHLAND BEACH ISLES; SOUTHERN FENCE (APPLICANT) ; JAMES DONOVAN (OWNER. ) MR. Donovan, representing the three owners of the building, presented the plans to the Board. It was noted that all residents of the building were in favor of installing subject fence . With all questions answered, the following MOTION was made by MRS . ZWICK/MR. FUTERNICK: THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD GIVES FINAL APPROVAL FOR ALUMINUM FENCE INSTALLATION FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1106A BEL AIR DRIVE, LOT 7 , HIGHLAND BEACH ISLES; SOUTHERN FENCE (APPLICANT) ; JAMES DONOVAN (OWNER. ) Rollcall met with unanimous vote . PRELIMINARY REVIEW FOR ADDITIONAL BUILDING STRUCTURE (GAZEBO. ) FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2474 S . OCEAN BLVD. , LOT 127W, BLOCK 1 . (NOT SUBMITTED ON ORIGINAL APPROVED PLANS . ) MARK MILLER/R.M. RANKIN (APPLICANT) - SUZANNE ARNOLD (OWNER. ) Mr. Rankin presented the plans to the Board, with discussion regarding the gazebo' s appearance . Mr. Dawson reinstated that the structure will consist of four columns with a canvas top, thereby not blocking the view from the abutting neighbors . With questions Community Appearance Board September 25 . 1997 Page 2 of 2 satisfactorily answered, the following MOTION was made by MR. FUTERNICK/MRS . COLARULLO: THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD GIVES FINAL APPROVAL FOR ADDITIONAL BUILDING STRUCTURE (GAZEBO) , FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2474 S . OCEAN BLVD. , LOT 127W, BLOCK 1; MARK MILLER/R.M. RANKIN (APPLICANT) - SUZANNE ARNOLD (OWNER) , WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE FOUR SIDES WOULD NOT BE ENCLOSED AND ONLY TRANSPARENT ROLLUPS BE USED FOR ENCLOSURE AT TIMES OF INCLEMENT WEATHER. OTHER BUSINESS Mr. Stevens resigned from the Board effective immediately, due to his upcoming move from Highland Beach. Resident Lucy Miller of Ambassadors East , presented her concern of the trash along the beach, noting that the beaches owned by private home owners, in particular, is where the trash is not picked up. Because this is out of the jurisdiction of the CAB, it was suggested she bring her concern to the Town Commission for action. Inspector for the month of October are Mr. Savino and Vice Chair n Colarullo. With no further business to come before the Board, MOTION to adjourn was made by MR. STEVENS/MR.
