Chairman Boscove called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m., advising this p4was a continuation of the Public Hearing called for the consideration of the final draft of the proposed Zoning Ordinance for the Town of Highland Beach, to be transmitted to the Town Commission in accordance with Florida State Statutes. This public hearing has been recessed from March 6, 1978. The Agenda is attachment "A", the recording secretary called the roll. Present: J. A. Boscove, N. M. Johnson, A. Allen, J. M. Farrin, R. B. Myers, O. Edlund (Alternate). In audience were Town Attorney T.E.Sliney and vice Mayor Ruth E. Mumford. Chairman Boscove advised that Dr. Orman would not be present at this hearing. therefore no final action would be taken on the proposed zoning ordinance, Sec.4.3(e),(11), et al. In the general discussion following, recommendations were made for a 150 ft. maximum front width building on lots where lot size would permit two 110 ft. front width buildings, according to the proposed zoning ordinance, allowing additional yard open space on each side of building Town Attorney T. E. Sliney noted the zoning ordinance could provide for con- sideration of applications for a variance by individual lot owners. Mr. Weidersum, Mr. Flack (Parker properties) and Mr. Charles Danto (Catsman Properties) spoke in support of the recommended increased building width. Mr. David O'Dunne, resident, spoke on proposed zoning prohibiting dolphins and free standing moorings. Mr. Earl Totz and Mr. O'Dunne recommended that the zoning ordinance include allowance of installation of dolphins in Highland Beach. The formula for parking areas and space requirements, was reviewed. Motion by Mr. Myers to recess the Public Hearing, seconded by Mrs. Allen. Mr. Johnson, Mr. Myers, Mrs. Allen, Admiral Farrin, Mr. Boscove, voted aye. The Public Hearing was recessed at 9:30 P.M.,to be continued on Monday, March 20, 197 at 7:00 P.M. APPROVED: A.
