. CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD
WORKSHOP MEETING - MINUTES
January 17, 1990 9:45 A.M.
Chairman William E. Paul called this Workshop Meeting of the Code En-
forcement Board to order in Comma sion Chambers at 9:45 A.M.
~. `~ " "
Present were Chairman Paul, Vice Chairman Pamela J. Perona, Edward J.
Pearlstein, Theodore F. Boepple, Lowell Blum, Horace Leng and Merton
Rubin.
Building Official Harry Heithaus was also present.
OLD BUSINESS:
Citation 2290. Robert Ressler, 4011 S. Ocean Blvd., No record of per-
mit on file for wood deck.
Chairman Paul asked the Building Official to explain the meaning of a
letter Mr. Ressler had sent to J.B. Manson-fling of the DNR in which Mr.
Ressler had stated that he would apply for a permit so the deck could
be removed. Mr. Heithaus replied that he had suggested to Mr. Ressler
.that he wait until the DNR reached a decision regarding a permit for
the gazebo located on the Barry property (4015 S. Ocean Blvd.). Both
Mr. Barry and Mr. Ressler were cited for violations at about the same
time, Mr. Heithaus continued, and since the DNR has not come to a
conclusion on the Barry permit, which Mr. Barry is actively pursuing,
then it would be to Mr. Ressler's advantage to take no action until a
DNR determination is reached.
NEW BUSINESS:
Citation 2311.. Panache Development Co. & Royal Cove Joint Venture.
4728 S.Ocean Blvd. Chapter 3Pl, Sec. 8.1. No permit on file for tempo-
rary sign.
The Building Official informed the members that originally this Cita-
tion had involved a permit for a sales trailer and the temporary sign.
A permit for the sales trailer had been applied for and issued;
however, to this date no permit for the sign had been applied for.
Mr. Heithaus explained that by Settlement Agreement, this project was
authorized to replace an existing sign, 24 sq. ft. in size, but still
had to pay for a permit for same.
Ms. Perona asked the Building Official about the possibility of citing
the parties under the Sign Ordinance (No. 550); however, Mr. Heithaus
pointed out that Ordinance 574 was applicable in this case and sug-
~ested that the Board stay with the Citation as issued.
