MINUTES OF TOWN COMMISSION MEETING
SPECIAL MEETING
Friday, March 16, 2007 10:00 A.M.
Mayor Harold R. Hagelmann called the Regular Meeting to order in Commission
Chambers at 10:00 A.M.
CALL TO ORDER:
Roll Call
: Members present: Mayor Harold R. Hagelmann; Vice Mayor Joseph J.
Asselta; Commissioner Rachael Scala-Pistone; Commissioner Miriam S. Zwick;
Commissioner Jim Newill, CPA; Commissioner-Elect Doris M. Trinley; Town Attorney
Thomas E. Sliney; Town Manager Dale S. Sugerman; Town Clerk Beverly M. Brown
and Deputy Town Clerk Jane Dillon. Also attending were residents of the community
and Commissioner-Elect Trinley?s family.
Pledge of Allegiance:
The Pledge of Allegiance was given, followed by a minute of
silence in honor for those living and deceased members of the military services.
Reading of Resolution No. 07-006 R
:Mayor Hagelmann requested that the Town Clerk
read into the record Resolution No. 07-006 R declaring the election for one (1)
th
Commission seat to have been held on the 13 day of March 2007 to be unnecessary
since the only candidate who qualified was unopposed. (Resolution attached hereto and
made a part of these minutes.)
Oath of Office:
Mayor Hagelmann requested that Deputy Town Clerk Dillon administer
the Oath of Office to Commissioner Doris M. Trinley, who signed the Oath.
Presentation:
Mayor Hagelmann presented a plaque to former Commissioner Scala-
Pistone thanking her for her service to the residents of Highland Beach. Commissioner
Trinley took her seat on the dais.
Comments:
Commissioner Trinley ? The full realization that I occupy this seat, not by
winning, but by having no opposition. Therefore I am here by one vote ? my own; a fact
which among many will be sure to keep my ego in check. To those who supported and
encouraged my aspiring to this worthy service, I offer thanks and heart felt appreciation
for your confidence. I promise I will try diligently to never disappoint. I also thank

whole heartedly those who are here this morning; family, mentors, friends, co-workers
who took the time to share this important time in my life. I was especially pleased that
Jane Dillon with whom I shared clerk duties for over 10 years administered the oath of
office. To all the residents of the Town of Highland Beach, I pledge my very best efforts
serving with neither guile nor pretense and with no personal agenda; keeping in mind
always my responsibilities to you and to your hard earned tax dollars. Thanks to all of
you and I am ready to serve.
Adjournment:
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this

Zwick to adjourn.
