Hadeed called the Regular Meeting to order at 9:30 A. M. Deputy Town C/erk Gretchen Dayton called the ro/% Present were the Chairman, Members Merton Rubin, Joseph A. Sarubbi and Leonard D. Be/% Vice Chair E//en B. Gerber, and Member Arthur Hamerman were absent. Chairman Hadeed wanted to thank Russ Richardson for serving on the Code Enforcement Board for three years as wel/ as other Boards in Town. He welcomed David Yarosh as a new Member. A/so present were Code Enforcement Officer Lee Leffingwe/% Attorney Larry Corman, (arrived at 9:37 A.M.J and Respondant, Raymond Schweikert, Jr. APPROVAL OF M/NUTES Upon MOT/ON by MR, RUB/N/MR. SARUBB/, the Minutes of the May 18, 1994 Regular Meeting were unanimous/y approved. OLD BUS/NESS None. NEW BUS/NESS Case No. 2358-95, Raymond Schweikert, Jr., property located at 4426 &4430 Tranquility Drive, Bock 3, Lots 14 & 15, Be/Liafo. /n violation of Chapter 6, Bui/dings & Structures, Section 128, Approve/required forbu/k heads, seawa//s, retaining wa//s; required notification of abutting property owners; Section 129, /nspection; Section 130, Maintenance. Ms. Leffingwe//presented photos of the seawalls in their present state, explaining the dock and seawall on the west lot are fa/ling into the water and have been decayed for quite some time. The adjoining lotto the east, needs some repairs and back fill on the seawa//. Since receiving the Claim of Violation and Notice to Appear, Mr. Schweikert has engaged a marine company to make the repairs. • ,~,, • CEB REG MTG M/N 4/19/95 PG 2 Ms. Leffingwe/l to/d Chairman Hadeed the first Notice of Vio/ation sent to Mr. Schweikert was in December, 1994. Raymond Schweikert, Jr. was sworn in a t this time. Mr. Schweikert stated he has a verbs/ agreement with Broward Pi/ing, Co. to repair the seawa//s. He spoke with the Genera/Manager yesterday and was to/d they would not be able to start repairs for sixty to ninety days. Mr. Be// asked if a permit has been app/ied for and if it was approved. Ms. Leffingwe// said she approved the permit and advised the marine contractor that it is a code enforcement issue and they need to start the repairs right a way. Mr. Sarubbi suggested putting atime limit for comp/etion of the seawa/l for thirty days. Upon MOT/ONby SARUBB//RUB/N to find Mr. Schweikert guilty as stated in the C/aim of Violation dated March 15, 1995 and met with unanimous vote. • Upon MOT/ON by MR. BELL/SARUBB/ the Code Enforcement Board gives Mi. Schweikert until May 15, 1995 to complete all necessary repairs to seawa//s located at 4426 and 4430 Tranquility Drive and met with unanimous vote. Upon AMENDED MOT/ON by MR. BELL/SARUBB/ the Board will imp/ement fines if repairs to seawa//s are not completed by May 15, 1995, amount of fine to be determined at the May 17, 1995 Code Enforcement Board Meeting.
