QUARTERLY MEETING MINUTES

Chairwoman Ellen B. Gerber called the Quarterly Meeting to order
in Commission Chambers a 9:30 A.M.
Deputy Town Clerk called the roll. Present were Chairwoman Ellen
B. Gerber, Members David Yarosh, Jane Rayner, Harold B. Cohen and
Herbert J. Lewin. Vice Chair Joseph A. Sarubbi and Member John
Sorreli were absent.
Also present were Attorney Gorman, Building Official James Du Vall,
Mayor Voress, and members of the general public.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Upon MOTION by MR. YAROSH/MR. COHEN, the minutes of the October 8,
1996 Quarterly Meeting were unanimously approved.
OLD BUSINESS
Chair Gerber welcomed new member Herbert J. Lewin to the Board.
Chair Gerber read her memo to the Town Commission stating -the
Board's decision at their October meeting to hold Quarterly
Meetings rather than scheduled monthly meetings, with a special
meeting being called if a code enforcement issue arises.
Chair Gerber read into the record her letter of resignation from
the Board due to her moving out of state. She expressed thanks to
the Town for letting her serve for many years on the Town' s boards .
NEW BUSINESS
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Upon MOTION by Chair Gerber/Mr. Yarosh, HAROLD B. COHEN was elected
as CHAIRMAN for 1997.
Upon MOTION by Chair Gerber/Mr. Cohen, JOSEPH A. SARUBBI was re-
elected as VICE CHAIRMAN for 1997.
Upon MOTION by Mr. Cohen/Chair Gerber, JANE RAYNER was elected as
SECRETARY for 1997.
Mayor Arlin Voress offered his thanks to Mrs. Gerber for all her
years of dedication to the Town's Boards, and expressed his
• appreciation of her service. He wished her well on her move to her
new home.

OTHER BUSINESS
The Board asked Jim Du Vall to present an update on projects in
Town. He spoke on several current projects, and asked the Board
to make him aware of any code enforcement concerns they may become
aware of in Town. Mr. Du Vall will be generating monthly status
reports for the Board Members awareness of town activity.
There was lengthy discussion on the low lying mangro areas, and the
problem with mosquitos and sandflies. Mayor Voress satisfactorily
addressed the Board's concerns.
It was suggested that a segment be placed in the upcoming Town
Newsletter, reminding all residents to obtain proper permitting
from the Town Building Department before starting any type of work
in their home. It was asked that the Building Department
communicate with the condo managers on the steps to be taken when
a resident requests having work done.
MOTION was made by MR. LEWIN/MR. COHEN to have a segment in the
Newsletter dedicated to permit procedure.
With no further business to come before the Board, MOTION to
• adjourn was made by CHAIR GERBER/MR. COHEN at 10:40 a.m.
