The meeting was called to order at '7;30 p,m. by Comm. Hertwig. In the
absence of a quorum and by previous agreement Corrli~n. Hertwig recessed
the meeting to 3 p.m. on Julys 12, 1955.
Gn July 12, 1955 the meeting was called to order by P;Zayor Smith at
3;00 p.m. Also present were Comm. ~?oble, l~Jeber and aiertti~:rig. Comm.
Harmon was absent being out of totinrn.

of Comm. Noble, seconded by Comm. ~~~eber and t'ne affirmative votes of all
four commissioners present,
Comm. Hertwig advised that the current sampling of water specimens had
been approved as satisfactory , by the State Board of Health, under date
of July 5, 1955.
The clerk read letter from Russell B. Frey of '701 N. '~. 20th Drive,
Ft Lauderdale, asking if the Town would furnish a supply of water to
the 23 acre tract which he proposes to develop, and which is adjacent
to the Town water works. The commission by general agreement decided
that the clerk should advise it"r. Frey that the Town would be Vrilling to
supply his tract with water under a suitable agreement,
':bitten complaints vrere received from David Tjart and Shoreland Apart-
ments, concerningan alleged. dog kennel operation at Seacliffe Cottages.
By general agreement it was decided to have Comm. Ixertwig discuss the
matter with Attorney .Byrd and get his recommendations.
There was a general discussion concerning the stoppage of all ~rrork on
development of the sub-division of Delray-by--the-Sea 'but no formal ac-
tion was taken.
,.Tayor Smith submitted, far consideration and discussion, a tentative
budget for the new fiscal year starting November 1, 1955 anal there was
discussion as to how it might be possible to proceed with the installation
of a filtra,~}~y~tion plant at the water works.
Subject to further discussion it was decided that conversations should
be held z^rith the Town Attorney and Thomas T:. Cook, with a view to getting
their approval of the proposed filtration plant, It .vas generally agreed
that if they approved the plan, the ~~ Town Engineer should be instruct-
ed to proceed with plans and specifications so that bids could be taken
to purchase and build the filtration plant, and to lease any equipment
necessary for the proper operation of the plant.
