1954.04.06_TC_MinutesMinutes. Highland Beach Town Commission. April 6, 1954. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Smith. Also present were Comm. Harmon, Noble & Hartwig, Comm. Skillman was absent, being out of town. The audience consisted of VYm. Z. Due & Jean H. Miller. Minutes of the meeting of 3/2/54. were read and approved on motion of Comm. Marmon, seconded by Comrn Noble and the affirmative votes of all four commissioners present. The clerk read report of Comm. Skillman serving as a committee ap- pointed,at the meeting of 3/2/54, to investigate the matter of a complaint by James E. Bodvers Jr. about a trailer lccated on the property of David Tjart. in substance Comm. Skillman reported that there was a trailer as reported and that it was being lived in and he submitted such information for the action of the dommission. Comm. Hartwig moved that a written notice be sent to t~,r. David Tjart, advising hizn that living in said trailer constituted a violation of Town Ordinances, and further advising and ordering that said violation be stopped within thirty days under penalty of further action by the Town Commission if the violation wart continued. After some discussion the motion was seconded by Comm, Harmon and approved by the aff irm- ativc votes of all four commissioners present, Clerk Hertwi~ reported concerning the impending Town Elections, stat- ing that only one candidate for each Office- had filed the proper qualifying statements and therefore the scheduled Primary Election would not have to be held. By general agreement the clerk was re- quested to advise residents and property owners that only the Regular Election on May 4, 1954 would be held. The clerks statement certifying as to the names of the qualifying candidates, appears on page 2 of these minutes, along with prepared Resolution X41 which was moved for adoption by Comm. WHEREAS the following named persons are the only ones who have properly qualified as candidates for elective offices of the Town, in elections to be held on April 13 ,1954 and May 4, 1954; J.
