Minutes~~~H ighland Beach Town Commission-- March 6, 1951.
A regular monthly meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 P.M. by Mayor Totterdale.
Present were Comm. Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale & Hartwig.
Minutes of the preceding meeting ware read and approved on motion of
Comm. Heaton, seconded by Comm. Dubendorff and affirmative votes of
all five commissioners present.
Comm. Hartwig read letter from Merilda Peckham, inquiring about
zoning applying to her property, and read his reply dated 3/3/51.
All five commissioners present agreed that the reply of Comm. Hartwig
was correct avid is approved.
Comm. Hartwig made a verbal report about a temporary interruption of
the operation of the south water pump, apparently cause8 by a.n urea-
plained change in the clearance of the pump impeller. He reported that
the impeller had been adjusted by Howard Cromer and that the pump
appeared to be operating properly.
There was some discussion about trying to get the telephone company
to install a private telephone for W. H. Kirk and by general agreement
it was decided that it would do no harm to try.
Comm. Hartwig advised that as the construction account at the Boynton
Bank had been closed out the bank desired to have us release the special
bonds posted for security of the fund. The matter was referred for ap-
proval of Attorney Byrd oa motion of Comm. Dubendorff seconded by
Coaun. Smith and affirmative votes of all five comtniss~oners present.
Comm. Smith referred to the question that whereas he bras nominally
supposed to be iaa. charge of the water works as per the co~nission meet-
ing of Aptril 10, 195, actually he was not very familiar with the oper-
ation of the plant and would prefer to have some one else supervise
said operation. On motion of Comm. Dubendorff, seconded by Comm..Heaton
and approved by affirmative votes of all five commissioners present,
Comm. Smith is releived of special supervision of the water works and
Commissioner Hert-vig is to exercise such supervision until otherwise
arranged by the Commission.
