1950.01.23_TC_Minutes_MIRIUTES'~~ Highland Beach Town Commission~~January 23, 1950 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Totterdale at ~ P ~I '~ Present were Comma Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale &Hertwig. Mr. Hewitt Noble appeared to ask that the Can~mssion'take appro- priate action against the parking of a house trailer at the prem- ses of A+4r, Lars Krussel. After considerable discuss3ori Comm. H Heaton moved that a committee call ah Town Attorney `Byrd and in- struct him tQ send' Mr. Krussel a letter of notice that`hs trailer parking could not continue and askizlg him to see the Commission about arranging a pror settlement of the question. The motion was seconded by Comrrt, Dubendorff and passed by affirmative votes: of Gomm. Dubendorff, Keaton, Smith and Totterdale. Comm:': Hertwig voted against the motion. In accordance with the motion the Mayor appointed 'a committee of himself and Comm« Hertwig to see Mr. Byrd. ,, Comm, Hertwig reported that`he had explored the possibility of getting a'temporary supply of water from the City of Delray Beach, until such time as-the Town waterworks could be completed and in fu1T operation, He advised that all members`of the Delray Beach City-Council had been approached ..individually upon. the subject and none of them were opposed to the project. Comm. Hertwig-reported that't would cost about 120©«00 to bridge thegap.-between our water main terminus and the end- of the Byrd :.Beach main. After careful consideration of all angles; Camm. Dubendorff moved that ' Contractor Cramer be authorized to make the required extension . and connection to the Byrd Beach main and that Comm, Hertwig be directed to complete negotiations with the City of Delray Beach for the proposed temporary water supply, The oration wa.s,seconded. by Comma .Heaton. and passed by affirmative votes of Comm, Duben- dorff, Heaton, Smithy Totterdale and Hertwig. In further. connection with the afore mentioned temporary. water supply,Comm. Hertwig read a cope of a proposed letter to be sent to the Delray..Beach City Council. Comm. Smith moved that the let- ter be approved and that Comm. Hertw~.gbe authorized to `send same to the Delray Beach City Council. Comm. Syl- v~ster proposed to place a 1 inch pipe across AlA whil® Con- tractor Cromer was putting the Town main in its ditch. The contractor wanted to know if the Town Commission would permit this to be done. Comm. Dubendorff moved that the contractor be advised that altho accepting no responsibility for $ylvesteris pipe the Town Commission had no objection to his placing it in the etch after the water main was in place..: Comm. Heaton seconded the motion and it was passed by affirmative .votes of Comm. Sm~:th, Dubendorff~, Heaton,. Totterdale and Hertwig. Clerk Hertwig advised that Florida Power & Light Company had,: submitted a c©ntract for the power supply to the 'dater works and moved that it be referred to engineer Brockway for his ap-. proval~ and to Attarneq Byrd for his approval as to legal dorm. Comm. Dubendorff seconded the motion and it was passed by,affirm- ative votes #~f Comm. Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale and Hertwig.: _ Comm. Hertwig moved that the Town Treasurer be authorized to draw a check for X2,392.50 to the ©rder of Phil D. OtConnell, and request Attorney Byrd to take up and complete the option on the Townes well site. Gomm. Smith seconded the motion and it was passed by affirmative votes of Comm. Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale and. Hertwig. The clerk presented Engineer Brockway~s Estimate ~1, for work done on the Water works contract. The amt~unt of said estimate was ~29,93?•51 and Engineer Brockway approved payment of this amount to Howard Cromer, the:contractor, After-due consderatio~and ds-- cussion,'Corum,«:Heatonmoved that the Town Treasurer be directed and authorized=to pay the said amount to Howard Cromer, Contractor« Comm. Smith seconded the motion and it v~ras passed by affirmative votes ` of Comma Dubendorff, Heaton, 'smith, Totterdale ~ Hertwig. On motion of Comm. Smith, seconded by Comm.
