Present were Comm, Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale andHertwig. Comm. Hartwig presented for consideration a proposed contract to be entered nt© with the City of Delray'Beach, for the pur- pose of seeuring a :temporary supply ,of water from that City for a three month peri©d pending the c©mpletion of our pumping station and our pipe line: crossing the canal; ®a~.d contract having been drawn by Mrs John Moor®, Citp Attorney for Delray Beach, and generally being in accord with the conditions laid down by the City Council of Delray $each'at their meeting on Thursday February 2nd,-when .they. agreed to the arrangement. The contract was read and discussed and Comm, ~iertwig moved that the Mayor and Town Clerk be authorized-and directed to execute the contract with-the City of Delray Beach, provided the form of said .contract meet with the approval of Town Attorney Byrd. Comm, Heaton seconded said motion and it was passed by the af- firmatve=votes of Comm. Dubendorff Heaton, :.::Smith, Totterdale and Hartwig, there being no dissent. Clerk Hartwig ''resented bill from George: S. Brockway, Engineer to the amount of 1,79r~.25 for engineering services on the Water Plant Construction, said amount being based on the work done as ., : per the Contract Estimate #1 on the `c©ntract of Howard Cromer,- c~E--~~ CZ~rk,Hertwig presented bill from Byrd and Whitley, Attorneys to`'the amount of $~.,443.06.for professional services to date and including the final camglet-ion and. approval of construction of the water plant and Distributi©n system. Careful consideration eras given to all aspect`s . 4f the bill, after which Comm..„Heaton 'moved that the bill be c©mpletely approved, that ~2y504,00 be paid at this tame and that. p~y~ent of the bal- aAee be deferred until an arrangement can be made mutually satis- factory to.Attorney Byrd and the Commission; also that the Town Clerk be directed to express to Attorney Byrd-the Commission's thorough appreciation of his services and work and the deep per- ,sonal interest he has shown in the practical questYrans of our Town problems, entirely aside frr~m the legal aspects. The motion was seconded by Comm. Dubendorff and gassed by affirmative votes of Cvmtu. Heaton, Dubendorff, Smith, Totterdale and Hartwig, there. be3.ng no dissent. Comm. There was some ..discussion aba~at the legal costs involved in having the necessary; papers drawn and executed and the whole question was tabled for conSi-~.eratoA at a future .meeting, l~.por Totterdale read a letter requesting his participation zn - ceremones of thecoming,Gladiola Festival in Delray Beach. No ~`- official action was taken but the genera]. sentiments of the Commissioners were that as a matter of civic co-operation and good will,:. it would be well for the P~ayar to acknowledge the invitati©n;and to take'-part to suchextent as he could. There was general discussion about the need for setting'up cor~aittaes on budget, finances and related matters and it was decided to bring thaw matters up at the next Commission meet- irtg, second in priority only to matters affecting the current wa ®r pro3eet.
