M. by Mayor Totterdale. Present, were Comm. Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale & Hertwig. l~iinutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved by unan- imous agreement.. letter was read from Howard L. Cromer, Contractor lis~sing prices and quantities of material on hand for making water connections. Comm. Hertwig moved that the prices seemed reasonable and that the Commission authorize and direct the purchase of the material to the amount of ~1~53.15cents; using for payment thereof the funds of the Water bill security deposits. The motion was seconded by Comm. Smith and passed by affirmative votes of Comm. Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale and Hertwig; there being no dissent. Comm. Hertwig pointed out that semi-annual interest on the Town Water bonds would be due on June 1, 1950 and that it would have to be sent to the Chase National Bank in New York. Comm. Heaton moved that the Tresaurer be and he hereby is authorized and directed to arrange the proper payment from the Interest and Sinking Fund. Comm. Hertwig__seconded the motion and it was passed by affirmative votes of Comm. Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale & Hertwig. Comm. Totterdale reported conversations and negotiations with It'ir. Kirk concerning regular inspection and maintainance of the Water Plants and recommended that ILir. Kirk be engaged for the purpose at a cost of ;50.00 per month. Comm, Hertwig moved that ,the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to engage ~Ir. Kirk on a temporary basis at a cost of X50,00 per month. The inspection and maintainance to begin when the water plant is put in operation and ~ ~ the arrangement to run indefinitely until terminated by 30 days-~`"~:~ written notice by th_e Town of Highland Beach to Pair, Kirk`or ~bq ~"~ `~` similar notice by T~lr, Kirk to the Town. The motion was seconded by Comm. Dubendorff and passed by affirmative votes of Comm. Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale and Hertwig, there being no dissent. ' There was a general discussion on the matter of zoning Comm. Hertwig S.treSSZr'1~Q 'the importance of completing a general zoning ordinance at the 71 earliest possible occasion. Comm. Totterdale stated he would have an ordinance for action by the Commission at an early date, Comm. Hertwig eras directed to negotiate concerning a security bond to cover the TownTs general funds and to arrange for the opening of a Bank account for the Water Plant Operating Account. Comm. Hert- wig was also directed to arrange for occupational licenses with the Electric Pourer Company and the Telephone Company Upon motion of Comm. Smith, seconded by Comm.` Dubendorff and affirm- ative votes of Comm. Dubendorff, Heaton, Smith, Totterdale & Hertwig, the meeting was recessed until `7:30 P. M. Nla 2 1954
