Minutes. Highland Beach Town Commission. June 4, 1963;.

The regular monthly meeting was called to o~2der at 7;30 p.m. on
June 1.~., 1963 by comm. Turner. No others were present except Town
Manager Hertwig so for lack of a quorum Comm. Turner declared the
meeting recessed to Thursday June 6, 1963 at 7:30 p,m.
The recessed meeting of June ~., 1963 was called to order at 7;30
p.m. on June b, 1963 by Mayor ~rpel. Also present were Comm+rs
Beekman, Jones Noble and Turner and Town Manager Hertwig.
Minutes of the meeting of May 7, 1963 were read and approved on
motion of Comm. Noble, seconded by Comm. Jones and the affirmative
votes of Comm+rs Beekman, Eppel, Jones, Noble an d Turner.

The Town Mansiger prese'~ted some reports from the Tri County Gov+ t
League indicating that the league was becoming more active in af-
fairs in this area. Through a fluke relating to a check for dues
.~ we had never~of the League. By general agreement the members of
the commission felt we should support the League and the Town Man-
ager was authorized to send s`check for the current years dues.
Amount of the check is $15.63.
The Town Men ager gave a verbal report on a recent pump failure at
the water works and requested approval of payment of bills incur-
red by the troubles in the amount of X60.00 to Redfearn Crane Ser-
vice for crane hire, and ~27b.00 to the Broward Pump & Supply Co.
for repairs to the 20 H.P. high service pump. Approval for payment
of these items was made on motion of Carom. Jones, seconded by Comm.
Beekman and the affirmative votes of Comm+rs Beekman, impel, Jones,
Noble and Turner.
There was discussion about removal of trees from the road shoulders
in Bel Lido. The Town Manager was requested to investigate methods
and prices for the work involved.
The Town Manager requested that the Commission increase his salary
from X200.00 per month to X300.00 per month and s~ offered propos-
ed Ordinance #12~„ to accomplish that result. After discussion of
the matter the members of the Commission were agreed that the in-
crease should be granted and Comm. Turner moved that Ordinance
#121,}, be approved on its first reading. Title of Ord. #12~. follows;

AN ORDINANCE TO INCREASE THE SALARY OF THE
TOWN MANAGER FROM X200, TO X300. PER MONTH.
Comm. Jones seconded the motion for approval of Ord. #121. and it
was passed on First reading by the affirmative votes of Comm+rs
Bee~nan~ Eypel, Hones, Noble and Turner.
