1961.01.17_TC_Minutes T~rinutes. Highland Beach Town Commission. January 3, 1961 Jam, nary 1`7, 1961. The regular r*~onthly meeting was called to order on January 3, 1961 at 7:30 p,~.. by ~icePlTayor Turner. No one else was present except Town B~Igr. Flertwig and for lack of a quorum the vice mayor declared the meeting recessed to 7:30 p.~.. on B'anuary 17, 1961. The recessed meeting of January 3, 1961 was called to order at 7;30 pm. on January, 1'7, 1961, by Piiayor Eypel. Also present were Co~+.~'rs Bertash, Noble and Turner and Town r~?fir. rlertwi~. Cor.~m. Jones V1as absent . Tyanutes of the meeting of December 6, 1860 were read and approved on motion of Corgi. Noble, seconded by Comm'r Turner and the affirmative votes of Co~~ntrs Bertash, Eypel, Noble and Turner, without dissent. There was discussion about an advertising sign of the Tlarineway Corn. tivhich was erected without pergait on the west side of AlA. Cori. Turner moved thatthe Tovm ll.anager be authorized to take whatever proper steps are necessary to have the sign removed. The motion was seconded by Coxiz~. Bertash and approved by the affirmative votes of Car~'rs Bertash, Eypel, Noble and Turner. There was discussion about the situation at Bellefonte Apts. T.4ayor E~Tpel advised that T.Tr. I~?aekey told him that he had acquired the Hamil- ton land and house and d.id not intend to continue any work on the re- twining wall surrounding the Bellefonte pool on the beach. TJo formal action v+ras taken. There was discussion about the beach shack erected by Peter ~~~fest and others . The Town T:Tanager advised that the sher}~iff t s office i~} nelray, (Tr?r. CTordon Lee) had proxi~ised to Host the property and keen off any trespassers. T~?o formal action v~ras taken. The Tovrn ?`e''anager advised that Boca ~larbour had paid their mortgage in full and that a satisfaction had been executed. 1'eo formal action eras taken. There was disc~zssion about the need or advisability of flushing the Tavm water mains. No frugal action was tal~en. There ti^ras discussion about the beach erosion question but no forrr..al action was taken. It dvas generally agreed that during the winter season the ?~eetings of the comr^ission be made as short and infrequent as possible and this meeting, was adjourned on emotion of Co~.~n. Bertash, seconded by Comm. Turner and the affirmative votes of Coruu~±trs -~?ertash, Eypel, Noble-and Turner.
