Because of t the election it had been agreed to postpone this meeting until 2 p.m. on May 4, 1960. No others were present except Town Pr?anager Hartwig and so for lack of a quorum, Comm. Noble declared the meeting recess- ed to I~Iay 4, 1960 at 2:00 p.m. The recessed meeting of May 3, 1960 was called to order by Comm. Noble at 2 p.m. on May 4, 1960, Also present were Gommtrs Bertash and Jones and Town Manager Hartwig. Mayor Eypel and Comm. Brecken- ridge were absent. The commissioners discussed the recent election, the results of which they had dust finished canvassing, and in which all of the Town's in- cumbent officers were re-elected without any opposition whatever. The Town TY:anager requested approval to pay obligations coming due on June 1, 1960. The i~'ems are bonds and interest due at the Chase Man- hattan Bank in the sum of X6,055,00 and certificates and interest due the Bank of Palm Beach & Trust'Company in the amount of X4,200.00. Comm. Bertash moved that the Town Manager be directed to arrange for the payments from appropriate funds. The motion was seconded by Comm. Jones and approved by the affirmative votes of Commtrs Bertash, Jones and Noble. There was no dissent. The Town Manager advised that he was preparing some recommendations in connection with needed changes at the water works and requested that another meeting be held before the regularly scheduled one on June 7, 1960. For that reason Gomm. Bertash moved that the meeting be recessed to May 24, 1960. Comm. Jones seconded the motion and it was approved by the affirmative votes of Commis Bertash, Jones and Noble. A special ~~'~~'f~' meeting held in accordance with the Town Ordinances, to canvass the election results. The meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.rn. by Comm. Noble. Also present were Commis Bertash and Jones and Town Pa1gr. Hertwig. Mayor Eypel and ,Comm. Breckenridge were absent. P}?r. Alfred S. Kinsey, Clerk of the Election Board, presented the Certif ication of the results of the election held May 3, 1960, which were as follows: A total of 29 ballots were voted. For Mayor Commissioner, Arthur Eypel received ............ 29 votes . For Vice 14Tayor Commissioner, R. E. Breckenridge received., 29 votes. For Town Clerk Commissioner, Matthew Bertash received..... 29 votes. For Town Commissioner, G. Arthur Jones received........... 27 votes. For Town Commissioner, Mildred S. Noble received.......... 28 votes. The following papers accompanied the Election Board's Certification of the results of the election; Signature list of those who voted in the election. Specimen copy of the Official Ballot. Upon examination, the Election Board's Certification and the accom- panying papers were found to be in order and correct and the members of the Town Commission found them to be so; Thereupon Comm. Jones moved for adoption of Resolution X93 ,. declaring the official results of the election, The motion was sec- onded by Comm. Bertash and adopted by the affirmative votes of Comm~rs Bertash, Jones and Noble. There was no dissent. Resolution X93 appears on the following page, page 2 of these minutes. BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Commission of the Town of Highland Beach, Florida, that the certification of the Election Officials as to the results of the General Election held in the Town of Highland Beach, Florida, on 14iay 3, 1960, isy and it hereby is found, to bed true and correct.
