1960.11.01_TC_Minutes_ Plinutes. Highland Beach Town Commission. November 1, 1960 November 15, 1960 The regular monthly meeting was called to order By Vice-F.Zayor Turner at 7:30 p.~n. on November 1, 1960. No one else was present except T Town T^:anager Hertwig and so for lack of a quorum, Pt_r Turner declared the meeting recessed to 7:30 p.m. on November 15, 1960. The recessed meeting was called to order act by Prlayor Eypel at 7:30 p.rn. on November 15, 1960 Also present were Comm~rs Bertash, Jones and Turner. Comm.. Noble was absent was absent at the start of the meeting but arrived after the earlier minutes had been approled. Town Manager Hertwig was present. I~!inutes of the meetings of October 4 and 18, 1960 were read and approv- ed on motion of Comm. Bertash, seconded by Corm.. Turner and the aff irm- ative votes of Cor~rn'rs Bertash, Eypel, Jones and Turner. A letter was read from I~'lrs. S . C . Roth dated November 2, 1960, in which she requested the rezoning of Bel Lido lot 22 in Block 2, and in which she objected to the assessed value placed on said lot. The Town P+~anager read reports dated Povember 14, 1960 on these twro matters and after a full discussion it was the consensus of the co~nissioners that the pro- per way ~ to dispose of the problems involved was as recor.~mended by the Town Idlanager in his retorts. Comm. Turner rioved that the request for rezoning be denied and that the Town I!~anager be authorized to ar- range a settlement of the problem with the Roths in line with his re- port dated November 14, 1960. The motion was seconded by Cornet. Bertash and approved by the affirmative votes of Corntntrs Bertash, Eypel, Jones, I~TOble and Turner. There was no dissent. A letter was read from P~=ir. 14~I. S. Hamilton, dated Noverber 4, 1960 rela- tive to the earlier proposed addition to Bellefonte. The Town P:Tanager submitted and. read a report dated IVTovember 10, 1960, concerning the let- ter from R~r. Hamilton. The letter and report were discussed by the mem- bers of the Commission but no formal action was taken as there is noth- ing currently before the Commission for action in this matter. The To~~rn Manager reported verbally on some further information about the the beach shelter which the Commission had ordered removed at the meeting on 6ntober 18, 1960. There was evidence that the boys involved with the shelter were not to blame for the noise and nuisance complain- ed of. The Commissioners were still convinced that there was a serious responsibility if they permitted the shelter to remain. The Town ?4iana- ?~er suggested that he be permitted to contact the parents of some of the boys and see if they would sponsor the activities of the group and agree to be responsible for the conduct of affairs at the shelter. Comm. Ploble moved that this course be f ollowed. The motion was seconded by Comm. Bertash and approved by the affirmative votes of Commtrs Bertash, ~'ypel, Jones, Noble and Turner.
