1959.02.03_TC_MinutesFebruary 3, 1959. Minutes. Highland Beach Town Commission. ~ A regular monthly meeting. ~' The meeting was called to order at ~L 7:40 p.m. by Vice-Mayor Breckinridge. Also present were Commtrs Bertash, Noble and Winston. (and Town Mgr Hertwig) Minutes of the meeting of January 6, 1959 were read and. approved on motion of Comm. Winston, seeoi~.ded by Gomm. Noble and the affirm- ative votes of Commtrs Bertash, Breckinridge, Noble & Winston. There was no dissent. At 7:50 p.m. Mayor ~ypel arrived and took over the Chairmanship of the meeting. There was a discussion of the status of the ~C twelve thousand dollar security deposit on the development contract of Highland Beach Isles, ~~ sold under foreclosure. Some interested parties concerned with the foreclosure wanted to know if the deposit would be released without undue delay if the contract were complied with. It was the consensus that the Town would be willing to release the deposit pro- viding the contract were fulfilled and all legal questions were set- tled so that the Town Attorney would approae the release. Comm. Breckinridge moved that the Mayor and the~Town Manager be authorized to proceed with such action when the conditions were fulf filled. Comm. Noble seconded the motion which was a~~roved by the aff irma- tive votes of Commis Bertash, .Breckinridge, Noble, Eypel and Winston, without dissent. There was discussion about an obstructing wall between the Reese and Jeffers properties but no formal action was taken. The Town I~Ign presented an approval by the Town Engineer of new grades for the easterly end of the north road into Bel Lido. These grades have been reduced to help with the drainage problem at the Ferndale and Lido Venice properties. No formal action was taken. There was discussion about the matter of the Town speed limit signs which was removed by the State Road Dept and about which the Town 1'Yianager has been corresponding with the State Road Dept. No formal action was taken. The meeting was adjourned on motion of Comm, Winston, seconded by C Comm.
