Minutes. Highland Beach Town Commission. July ?, 1959. EA regular monthly ffieeting) The regular monthly meeting was called to odder by Mayor impel at 8:30 p,m. following the mmeeting of the Tax Equalization Board, Also present were Commtrs Bertash and Noble and Town Manager Hartwig, Commgrs Breckinridge and Winston wars absent, being out o~ town. Minutes of the meetings of June 2nd and June 9th, 1959 wars read and approved on motion of Comm. Noble, seconded by Comm. Bertash and the affirmative votes of Coa+m~rs Bertash, Eypel and Noble, without dissent. The Town Manager presented a communication from the office of Wffi. Dag, Realtor, which was an offer by Morris Lazarus of X42,000, for approx- imately 6~ acres of the water works tract, The coaunissioners discussed the matter but decided that the offer was not advantageous for the Town and by general agreement the matter was tabled, There was no dissent, The Town Manager read copg of the letter sent bg the Town Attorneg under date of June 24, 1959, whereby the Town withholds its per~ission for placing the asphaltic concrete surface on the roads in Bel Lido, The Town Manager advised that the new road at the Water works could be propected by an oil and sand surface at a cost of approaimatelg ~l?5.00 and recommended that it be done, After some discussion Comm. Noble ~that the work be authorized. The motion was seconded by Comm, Bertas$ and approved by the affirmative votes of Commis Bertash, Eypel and Nobl®. There was no dissent. A letter wee read dated June 19, 1959 froffi the Tri-County Governmentael League asking the support of this Town for its efforts to promote the interests of Dade, Broward and Plam Beach Counties, Dins would be half the amount now paid to the Florida League of Municipalities. It was deeieiird that we should support this groups and C . Bertash moved that the Town Manager be authorized to forward proper dues. Gomm, Noble seconded the motion which was approved by the affirmative votes of Gomm'rs Bertash, ~gpel and Noble, without dissent. The Town Manager presented the following non-routine invoices and requested authorization for payment; B. B. Boldt, Inc. Invoice 6/30/59 amount of $295.00-- J. P. Carroll, Inc. Invoice 7/2/59 amount of X85,50-- Florida Islectric Motor Work, Invoice 6/26/59 amount of X195.00-- Arcde Electric Co. Inc., Invoice 6/29/59, affiount X16.38--Rag 8oh1 & Son, Invoices May and Jun®, amount of X11.30--reimbursement to Town Manager for expenses of elinner meeting of the League of Municipalities of P. B. County, amount of ?.?0. Payment of these items was author- ized on motion of Comm. Bertash, seconded by Comm. Noble and the affirm- ative votes of Commis Bertash, Eypel & Noble. There was no dissent. The Mayor presented his tentative budget for the new fiscal year. The tentative budget appears on the following page of these minutes. Noble moved that the Mayor's tentative budget be accepted for further consideration at a later meeting. The motion was seconded by Comm. No persona questioned or protested the Assessment Roll sad the se~er- sl Co~issionerir stated that~theg had no knowledge of ang arch per- sons who desired to be heard. After some farther discussion of the asaeasmeats, it was agreed to recess the meeting to allow additional opportunitg for interested parties to make protest if the' wished. Cow. Berta$h moved that the meeting be recessed to '7:30 p.m. oa September 8, 1959; that th® Tea Assessor be directed to keep regu- lar office hozars at the Town Halle oa Julg 8th, 9th and 10th, 1959, sad to have the 1959 Tea Assessment Ro11 available for inspection b9 sag properly interested parties who might wish to easstiae or protest the aasessaents; to present such protests if an ,for the B Boards consideration when it again meets oa September,~~ 1959, sad if there are no such protests to draw up the usual resolution oP approval of the Taa Roll for adoption at such meeting.
