This is a meeting recessed from July 7, 1959. The meeting was called to Order by Comm. Noble at 7:30 p.m. on September 1, 1959, Town Manager Hartwig was present but no ether memberm oP the Co~.i.s- sion were present and no property owners or taxpayers were on hand to examine or protest the Tax Roll and for lack of a quorum Comm. Noble declared the meeting recessed to 7:30 p,m. on September 8, 1959. On September 8, 1959, The recessed meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m,Aby Comm. Noble. Town Manager Hartwig waa also present but no other commissioners were present as it was generally agreed to put off the meeting until Vice- l~ayor Breckinridge would return to town. Lacking a qu©rum Comm. Noble declared the meeting recessed to 7:30 p,m. on September 15, 1959. The recessed meeting of September 8, 1959 was called to order by Mayor ~y~pel at 7:30 p.m. on September 15, 1959. Also present were Commr's Bertash, Breckenridge and Noble and Town Mgr. Hartwig. Comm. Winston was absent. Minutes of the Equalisation Board meeting of July 7, 1959 were read and approved on motion of Comm. Breckenridge, seconded by Comm. Noble and the affirmative totes of Commis Bertash, Breckenridge, Eypel and Noble, There was no dissent. Town Manager Hartwig, as Tax Assessor, reported that as directed by the Com~sission, he had maintained regular office hours at the Town Hall on July 8, 9 and 10, 1959, so that any interested parties could examine the 1959 Taa Roll, or protest the sam®, but that no persona had appear- ed to do so on those days or on any other days He therefore presented for consideration, Resolution #84, approving the Taa Roll for 1959. Resolution #84 was read and discussed and Comffi. Breckenridge moved that it be approved. Comm. Noble seconded the notion and it was adopted by the affirmative votes of Commis Bertash, Breckenridge, Typal ~c 'Noble, without dissent. This meeting, basing been recessed from September 8, 1959, was called to order by Mayor Eypel at 9:30 p.m., following an informal conference between the members of the Town. Commission cad Mr. Donald Smith of Zinke-Smith, Inc., and Mr. Homer Martin of the Highland Beach Develop- ment Corporation. Also present were Commtrs Bertash, Breckenridge and Noble and Tcsrn Mgr. Hartwig. Comm.. Winston was absent. Minutes of the meetings of June 16 and 23, duly 7, August 4 and 25, and September 1 and 8, sll of the year 1959, were read and approved on notion of Comm. Noble, seconded by Comm. Bertash and the affirm- ative votes of Comnn~rs Bertash, Breckenridg®, Eypel and Noble. There was no dissent. This was the first complete meeting to be held in several months and there were lengthy discussions about the operational problems.at the water works and the the development of the Bel Lido subdivision. No Formal actions were taken in these matters, except for the approval of several bills. Town Mgr. Hartwig requested approval for payffient of severe]. special expenditures as follows; to R. L. Sharpe the sum of X611.52 for in- voice #4639 for sandblasting and painting the inside and outside of the water storage tank and other painting at the water works; to Wallace & Tiernan, Inc. the sum of X170.56 for replacement parts for the chlorinator, per invoice #44543; to Brockway, Weber &c Brockway, the sum of X250.00 for report on malfunctions at water works. Comm. Bertash ffioved that the said three items be approved for payment. The motion was seconded by Comm. Breckenridge and adopted by the affirmaw tive votes of C ommtrs Bertash, Breckenridge, Eypel and Noble. There was no dissent. The Town Manager presented some preliminary sketches for a swimming pool which is pro3ected for construction at Bellefonte Apartments on a reef at the edge of the ocean. By general agreement the matter was tabled pending receipt of further details and drawings which could be submitted to the Town Engineers and Attorneys for their opinions on practicability and legality. The Mayor gave his opinion that the tentative budget submitted at an earlier meeting would. serve as a final budget with very minor changes, but by general agreement it was decided to defer further consideration until the next meeting.
