Some months ago Town Manager Hartwig had directed the attention of the
Town Commission to the possibility that it might be able to acquire,
for a nominal consideration, a eeluable piece of land on the east bank
of the FIND Canal. Mr. Hartwig pointed out that, if it could be acquired
the land would be a good place to locate a ground storage tank fOr a re-
serve water supply, and eventually for other Town purposes such as a
fire station and Town Hall. By unanimous agreement the Members of the
Town Commission decided that the idea was a good one and while no formal
action was taken, the-Town Manager was instructed to work through the
Tssn Engineer, Mr. George Brockway, and to lay the ground work, so that
the land could be acqui~d for the Town.
