NEW BUSINESS
Case No. 06-02: Carol R. Snyder
3114 S. Ocean Blvd. Unit 101
Highland Beach, FL 33487
FAILURE TO OBTAIN BUILDING PERMITS FOR INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS.
Ms. Snyder was not present. Dick Olbrych was present to address the violation.
He noted that two windows were being replaced by hurricane windows. A handyman
was performing the work who is not a licensed contractor and did not obtain a permit
• from the Town. Ms. Snyder was cited for this in January, and was sent a claim of
violation on February 1, noting that she had 14 days to remedy the violation. She did
not, and was subsequently sent on March 27, 2006 a Notice to Appear on April 18,
2006. A contractor submitted application for a permit on March 18, with the wrong
information and signature. The building department currently is trying to rectify this.
After discussion, the Board made the following MOTION by Mr. Reidenberg/Mr.
Colarullo:
That Mr. Dawson or Mr. Olbrych confirm, within the next two weeks to Chairman
Pagliaro, that a proper permit has been obtained by Ms. Snyder. Chairman Pagliaro
shall determine if a special meeting should be held.
MOTION CARRIED, with Mr. Halpern abstaining (due to personal friendship with Ms.
Snyder.)
Town Manager Dale Sugerman noted for the record, that he did not recommend a
Contractor for Ms. Snyder as she indicated in her memo of April 17, 2006. He contacted
the Palm Beach County's Agency on Aging and a Mr. G.A. Mack at the agency offered
the names of several G.C.'s who were willing to provide their services to senior citizens
who suffered minimal hurricane damage. These names were passed onto Ms. Snyder.
(memo attached hereto).
