CULTURAL BOARD
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, April 24, 2008 9:30 A.M.
Chair Emily Firtell called the regular meeting to order at 9:35 a.m. In attendance were Lois
Feldman, George Kelvin, and Myrna Resnick. Vice Chair Riia Futernick, Bettie Altman and
Sheila Kallman were absent. It was noted that Sheila Kallman has missed 3 meetings in a row.
Based on the Town Commission policy this is viewed as an automatic resignation.
General Board Information
Stan Novak — All donors' names and amount of donation/category all on a disc. Per Stan it will
be on disc if they can or on a print out.
Judy Broadman — Cultural Board Newsletter Editor, thank you for all your help. Please turn in
all information that Board members have for the newsletter within the next 2 weeks. Is there
someone the Board should highlight? If so please give the information to Emily. Emily has
finished the letter for the Highlander and a big thank you to Lois Feldman for editing.
• Wall Plaques — Emily met with Town Manager Dale Sugerman and has located a spot to hang
the donations plaques. They will be hung in the hallway outside of the Commission Chambers.
The Board is asking that each Board member recruit members for the Cultural Board vacancies.
New Business
2008 — 2009 Calendar — Paul Cohen has his own Swing Jazz Band — Cost $2,500.00 weekday,
$3,000.00 for a weekend concert.
Emily has asked that the entertainers be exclusive to the Cultural Board and they have agreed.
The Board does not to host duplicate venues.
Dancing Under the Stars — Swing Jazz March e, Rain date March 15, 2009.
Would like to have a Dancing Under the Stars Banner.
Will be checking with Father Grace regarding parking.
Fundraising — Fundraising Cookbook? The Board would need to form a committee, ask for
recipes to be submitted, Just desserts, appetizers, only main dishes? These are some of the
things to be considered. The Board will invite Ruth Samuels back for some more question and
answers.

The Board proposes to have no additions to calendar. The calendar will be closed.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to come before the Board, MOTION to adjourn was made by George
Kelvin and seconded by Lois Feldman and seconded by Myrna Resnick at 10:55 a.m.
