1968.06.11_TC_Minutes MINUTES • HIGHLAND BEACH TOWN COMMISSION MAY' 11, 1968 A workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Horton at 9:05 A.M., May 11, 1968. All Commissioners were present. Consideration of the hiring of Mr. Graham for water plant operator was made. It was determined that he should be paid $600.00 per month, for a normal 40 hour week, but:~h~e would be on call in case of emergencies. Mr. Graham also stated he would be able to visit the plant on Saturday and Sunday A.M. to make sure everything was in order. The Commission also determined that he would be required to read meters and accept other assignments, not necessarily connected with the plant. It was decided that the transportation problem should be the responsibility of Mr. Graham, but a truck would be made available for trans- portation on the job. Committees were assigned as follows: EXECUTIVE Mayor Horton TAXES Town Clerk Beekman HEALTH ~ ZONING Vice Mayor Noble PUBLIC WORKS Commissioner Hackman FINANCE Commissioner McCook • Commissioner Hackman moved that the new Town Manager be given a $15.00 week raise in salary, from $110.00 to $125.00, with two weeks. paid vacation and two weeks, non cumulative paid sick leave. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Noble. The Commission agreed that the resolution, requiring requisitions for purchases, be read and emphasized at the next meeting. Commissioner Hackman was requested by the Mayor, to see that all of the locks at Town Hall be changed so as to require new keys to gain entrance. The printing of new stationery was approved by the commission, the Town address to read "Highland Beach" instead of "Delray Beach" was suggested. The appointment of Town Accountant was left to the judgment of the finance committee chairman, McCook. The Town attorney is to be selected by the executive committee. Repairs of the Bel Lido bridge is to be the responsibility of the Public Works ~ Water Committee as well as the installation of additional street lights in the Bel Lido area. The Town Manager was requested to prepare a new mailing list for the Town bulletin.
