1968.09.16_TC_Minutes MINUTES • WORKSHOP MEETING HIGHLAND BEACH TOWN COMMISSION September 16, 1968 • r1 ~J A workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Horton at 9:30 A.M. All Commissioners were present with the exception of Commissioner Hackman. The first order of business was the question of a marina. Appearing before the Commission were Mr. Paul Aguiree, Mr. Raymond S. Hurley, and Mr. Richard Kadrey. They presented drawings for a Marina, Boatel, Restaurant, boat storage, snack shop, and filling station. They were advised that no permit would be issued for such a building, by ordinance and by deed restrictions. A Release of Right to Claim a Lien was reviewed which involves Harvel 6 Deland versus Albert DiVagno. It was agreed to forward this copy to our attorney, Mr. Mowry, for his perusal. A requisition for tools, chemicals and supplies for water plant operation and maintenance was read and approved for purchase. The question of building plans being approved by the Commission was reviewed. Vice Mayor Noble advised that when plans are approved by the Zoning Committee and the Commission, they should be initialed as a matter of record. The budget was discussed and the need to obtain tax records for the preparation of tax bills. Commissioner Beekman volunteered to go to the Court House and get the new records. This would allow the tax bills to be prepared earlier, as well as getting a finalization on the budget. The question of the need for extra help for the Post Office in the season was dis- cussed. Mayor Horton read a letter for approval, directed to all taxpayers, asking for an opinion on the service and extra cost to the Town for such service. It was agreed to poll the Town by letter by the vote of Commissioners Horton, Beekman and McCook. Vice Mayor Noble withholding. Meeting adjourned 12:00 Noon.
