SPECIAL MEETING
MINUTES: HIGHLAND BEACH TOWN COMMISSION AUGUST 14, 1965
A special meeting called by Vice Mayor Bunn to introduce and read Ordinance #130
and Ordinance #131 .
Town Manager Dailey and Commissioners Bunn, Johnson, Noble and Jones were present.
Mayor Hackman was absent.
Town Manager Dailey said he had asked for this meeting as the town office was getting
many questions and inquiries relative to immediate and proposed building and he felt
that these ordinances should be adopted and in effect as soon as possible.
Ordinance #130 was read:
"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND
BEACH, FLORIDA, BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SUBDIVISION ENTITLED 'BUILDING CODE'
CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, REPAIR, EQUIPMENT, USE AND
OCCUPANCY, LOCATION, .MAINTENANCE, REMOVAL AND DEMOLTTION, OF EVERY
BUILDING OR STRUCTURE OR ANY APPURTENANCES CONNECTED OR ATTACHED TO SUCH
BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES, THAT CERTAIN BUILDING CODE KNOWN AS THE SOUERN
STANDARD BUILDING CODE; 1960-61 REVISION AND FUTURE REVISIONS A1VD SUPPL
MENTS OF SUCH CODE, AND THE SAME ARE HEREBY ADOPTED AND INCORPORATED AS
FULLY AS IF SET OUT AT LENGTH HEREIN AS THE BUILDING CODE OF THE TOWN OF
HIGHLAND BEACH, FLORIDA."
Commissioner Jones moved that Ordinance #130 be approved on first reading. Commissioner
Noble seconded and all Commissioners present voted in the affirmative.
Ordinance #131 was read:
"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND
BEACH, FLORIDA, BY AMENDING PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE,
1960-61 REVISION, ADOPTED IN THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE TOWN OF HIGHLAND
BEACH, FLORIDA,"
Commissioner Bunn moved that Ordinance #131 be approved on first reading. Commissioner
Jones seconded and all Commissioners present voted in the affirmative.
The ordinances passed on first reading are posted on the town bulletin board.

After a short discussion of bond issue progress and the budget, the meeting was
adjourned at 10:30 AM.
