~`' 1lRinutes. H ighland Beach Town Commission. January 7, 196.
The regular January meeting was called to order by A~Zayor Eypel
at 7;30 p.m. on January 7, 196. Also present were Commis
Beekman, Jones, Tdoble & Turner and Town Manager Hertwig.
n~`inutes of the meeting of December 3rd and 10th, 1963, were read
and approved on motion of Comm. Jones, seconded by Comm. Beekman
and the affirmative votes of Commis Beekman, Eypel, Jones,
Noble and Turner.
The Town Manager presented a data sheet from The Palm Beach
County World's Fair Authority. As a matter of civic cooperation
the commission had earlier agreed to make a modest contribution
based on proportionate population. From the data submitted it
was noted that Gulf Stream had contributed X250.00 and the Town
of Ocean Ridge had given X100.00. After some discussion Comm.
Turner moved that Highland Beach make a contribution of X100.00.
Comm. Jones seconded the motion which was then approved by the
affirmative votes of Commis Beekman, Eppel, Jones, Noble and
Turner..
There was discussion about the Town limits sign of the State
Road Dept which is misplaced near the north Town limits. It
was generally agreed that Comhn. Turner and-the Town Tltanager
would serve as a committee to size up the situation and if
advisable take up the matter with the State Road Department.
The Town Manager reported on a talk he had with i42r. G. Fred
Rieman who owns a number of lots in Bel Lido and says that there
is a concerted move under way to immediately proceed with the
installation of canal bulkheads, filling in of the lots, and
otherwise complete the improvements in that subdivision. Since
this subdivision has lain dormant for years, the Town PZanager
felt that the work projected could j~ as well be put off un-
til April and thus not interfere with the tourist season.
After some discussion it was decided that Mayor ~ypel would
try to have a talk with Mr. Rieman and see if the work could
be deferred without interfering with_itts eventual completion.
_ The meeting
Comm. Turner
Jones, Noble
was adjourned on motion of
and the affirmative votes
and Turner.
