N® others were presen# as the election was being cotmted so, for leak of a qu®rmti, the me®ting was recessed. to 9:00 p.m. of the same dap. The recessed meeting was called to order by Mayor 1~pe1 at 9:00 p.at. ®n Yay 5, 1964. Also present were Co~~ rs Beelaaan, Jones, Noble and Turner and Town lianager Nertwig. Minutes ®f the meetings of llpril 7th,l4th,21st, and 22nd, all 1964, were read and approved sn m®tion of Coma. Noble, seconded by Comm. Jones, and the affirmative votes of C~m~as Beekman, Eypel, Janes, Noble and Turner. For the record the Town Manager requested appr®val ®f payment fmr prinng election ballots to Bedell Printing Company in the nm®unt of 0. and for ~i2.00 for eapenees incidental to the carrying Out ®f the election, Cwt. Turner honed that these two items be approved f®r payment. Conmt. Noble seconded the m®tion which was ap- proved by the affirmative votes of Comas rs Beel~an, ~ypel, Jones, Noble and Turner. The Town Manager then presented and read the following letter; ----------------------------------------------- To the Town Ccm~ai.ssion of the ?awn of Highland Beach. Phis is my resignation as Town Manager. I suggests that it beccQSe effsative Yay 3l, 1964. This will afford a reasonable interval is which t® make a smooth transition of the naricus "own funct3.ons. The 1963 audit is in process and when it is cenpleted I request that it be c®ntinued to May 31, 1964. I wish to thank the Commissioners for their kindly and harmonious efforts to meet the Town problems in an honest and straightforward manner. Sincerely years, signed, Rud®lph W. ~ertwig. Vice Mayor Turner moved that Yr. Nert~rig~s resignation be accepted effective Map 31, 1964, but only with the sincere regrets ®f the entire Commission and with their thanks for his sixteen years of dedication to the organization and honest ffianagement oP the Town. The motion was seconded by Comm. Jones and approved by th® affirna- tive votes of Cc~mm~ rs Beekman, ~rpei, Jones, Noble and Turner.
