MINUTES: WORKSHOP MEETING OF THE TOWN COMMISSION - January 18, 1973
• The workshap meeting of the Town Commission was called to order by Mayor Horton
on Thursday, January 18, 1973 at 2:00 P,M. Present were all the members of the
Town Commission, members of the Planning Board, Mr. Walton, Mr. Kemery, Miss
Cain, Dr. Guelzow, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Schoeber, Mr. Wilcox; Members of the Board
of Adjustment - Mr, Kemper, Mr, Johnson, Mrs. Jones, Mr, Scofield, Mr. Watson,
Mr. Wernecke; the Town Administrator, the Zoning Administrator, Mr. Joseph
Boscove, Mr. Allan George, Mr. Dan Abernathy and several interested town
residents.
This meeting took place at the Seagate of Highlands Club House.
Mr. Dan Abernathy was invited here to explain the general outline of duties
and procedures regarding zoning in Highland Beach, He then proceeded to go
through the guidelines page by page interpreting the functions of the Town
Commission, the Planning Commission, the Board of Adjustment, the Administrative
Official, in regard to the zoning .~ administration which included procedures
to follow regarding public hearings from people requesting special exceptions
and variances. Mr, Abernathy answered questions and there was discussion among
those present in regard to the zoning ordinance.
The meeting adjourned at 4:30 P,M.
